Colorado's DeGette Endorses Clinton, Will Co-Chair Health Care Task Force

Colorado Congresswoman Diana DeGette has just endorsed Hillary Clinton for President and will co-chair her campaign's Health Care Task Force.

"Hillary Clinton has the strength and experience we need in the next President of the United States," said Rep. DeGette. "Under her leadership, we will finally provide quality, affordable health care for every American. These challenging times call for a leader with Hillary Clinton's ability to hit the ground running on her first day in the White House."

Diana rocks. Seriously. She's the best. This is good news for Hillary. And for those who really care about stem cell research, health care and kids. She's also a former criminal defense lawyer and personally opposes the death penalty.

What's the saying? fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me?

Sen. Clinton was first lady for 8 years. She tried one time (1) for universal care and then did nothing for 6 more years in order to advance the political career of her husband and then herself.

What makes you think that Sen. Clinton will not abandon universal coverage for her own political will the first chance she sees that it may cost her?

As far as experience, Sen. Dodd, Sen. Biden, Gov. Richardson, and Rep. Kucinich, have far more experience than Sen. Clinton.

And Sen. Clinton supports the death penalty and sat by idly while her husband let the death penalty be used against a retarded man.

And she supported the Iraq war.

    And she supported Kyl-Lieberman.

She was around when Defense of Marriage Act was signed.

She was around when Welfare Reform was signed.

She was around when NAFTA was enacted.

Why does Jeralyn and others in the progressive community support her?

    Hillary (5.00 / 2) (#3)

is smart and experienced and more than capable of leading the country. She's the most electable of the Democrats, in my opinion.

Progressives need to get over their focus on individual issues if they want to see a Democrat elected. It's got to be about values. No candidate with a chance of winning supports the positions on issues I care about most.

It's about values and trust in the ability and experience to lead.

For those that think a Democrat is no different than a Republican, think about the difference in the federal judges and Supreme Court justices each would appoint. That's a huge difference with a major impact.

I have not endorsed Hillary but she and Edwards are my favorites. If Obama gets the nomination, I'll support him as well.

According to the latest Zogby poll she would loose a general. So what does it matter that some random congresswoman from CO endorsed her?

    That's a crap poll. Do you really (none / 0) (#5)
