Hillary Won't Cross Writers' Picket Lines for CBS Debate

Breaking from Huffington Post....

Senator Hillary Clinton, D-NY, announced today that she will forgo CBS News' upcoming presidential debate unless the network can reach a resolution with its striking employees.

"The workers at CBS News have been without a contract for close to two and a half years," the Senator said. "It is my hope that both sides will reach an agreement that results in a secure contract for the workers at CBS News but let me be clear: I will honor the picket line if the workers at CBS News decide to strike."

I hope the other candidates follow her lead on this.

    I'm proud to say I've NEVER crossed a picket line in my life, for work or leisure.

    My own Loyal Order of Wretched Poets, Sports Bookmakers, and Tourist Rickshaw Ferriers will eventually be joining the striking Writers in solidarity.

    We'll be referencing our own union's motto: "We shan't spread lest the meter is ON!!"

    Hillary is "leading" the way on labor issues?  That's a little over the top.  I will give her credit for taking this stance and being the first candidate to realize the political benefit for taking a stand on this one issue. . . but c'mon, are you even fooling yourself on this?  You're just trying to pump up Hillary.  If you want to make an honest assessment of where the candidates stand on labor issues, great.  And if your honest assessment is that Hillary has the best labor positions, even better than Kucinich or Edwards, I would love to hear it.  But this post just smacks of trying to pump Hillary up.  Have you admitted that you're a Hillary supporter yet?  Or did I miss that?  Please reconsider putting your own personal integrity behind the most right-wing candidate out there.  I only say that because I was quite surprised that you threw your support behind such a right-wing candidate that has thrown liberals under the bus over the years.

    I really do admire your work on criminal justice issues and immigration issues and would like to hear a well thought out reason why you think Hillary will be good on these issues.   Because I think she would be  a disaster.  So I'm open to hearing why I am so dead wrong.
