Sorry about this.  I have so much respect for your opinions on many subjects... but your Rockies are looking like they're going down hard.

This is the big test for them. They were so incredibly hot, for so long, then came the big 8 day freeze and then they get dominated by Beckett and that awesome Sox lineup, and in Fenway to boot.

But take heart, it is only one game, an eternity to go.  Whether or not the Red Sox win this thing, the Rockies are just too talented and have too much spirit to keep playing the way they're playing tonight.

and head back to the mountains where the DH doesn't play, then the pendulum swings in the Rockies favor. Boston has to bench Big Poppy or Youkilis, severely weakening their lineup.

Why did Gawd abandon the most xian team in America?

OK, it is only the first game and maybe it is testing their moral fortitude.

To paraphrase Edward G. Robinson's question to Moses in the Ten Commandments.

I want the Rockies to get beat just because they advertise themselves as so religious.  Gotta have a reason to support one  team over another, usually I use team uniform.

my wife and I discussed a new college drinking game where you watch a ballgame on TV and drink every time you see someone spit.

I think you'd be plastered by the 3rd...

The fellows have to be ready to move instantly -
literally, before the sound of the "crack of the bat" reaches their ears.

Plus, the pitchers wear a protective cup inside their jockstraps, and, dang it, the darn things needs adjusting, no matter where you are.

Results come first.  Winning ugly is still winning.

    Lucky Shirt (none / 0) (#16)
by john horse on Thu Oct 25, 2007 at 05:43:25 PM EST
    Jeralyn,
You might try wearing a lucky shirt next time they play.  If they win then wear the same shirt for the next game.  I would also suggest not washing your lucky shirt between games lest you also wash the luck away.  If it goes 7 games then the Rockies should be ripe for victory.
