Clinton Derangement Syndrome

Sully has it big time. Here he is insulting civil rights movement hero John Lewis:

Fading memory has helped some to forget about the Clintons, their political machine and their ruthlessness. A rising black politician in the Democratic party is a threat to them and their power over blacks. So they are doing what they can to crush him, and punish any Democrat who associates with him. . . . I don't know what prompted Lewis to back Clinton; he marched between Obama and Clinton in Selma, but worshipped with Obama afterwards. . . . Again: the way in which Hillary uses her marriage to advance her own power is striking. No real feminist would do this; only someone who postures as a feminist while using her husband as a tool.

(Emphasis supplied.) Um, is he serious? Sully can't even hold a consistent thought in his head. If the threat is Hillary winning, how could Bill be the reason behind Lewis' alleged (no evidence whasoever to support this BTW) "conversion?" Coupled with his nasty attack on Ezra Klein, it seems clear that Sully has gone unhinged, again.

Is it not true that a rising black political star who did not come up through and does not owe allegiance to the civil rights ranks is a threat to the established black leadership?  Especially if his mother is white and his black father not an American black and he seems to transcend race the way Tiger Woods does?
You don't have to be deranged to realize that President Obama would render such folks as Sharpton and Jesse even more irrelevant than they are (I can't directly speak to John Lewis, but if he is to be inoculated from attack because he is a "civil rights hero" then the relevance of being such a hero will be much more historical after Obama's election).

The original version of this comment was meant to emphasize not just his authoritarian slip-ups but his non-apology apologies for them. I've yet to see an instance where he drops all pretension of misguided philanthropy and admits that he acted like, and enabled, a spiteful thug.

Sully's language sounds and is a typical Republican swiftboating tirade. [T]heir political machine and their ruthlessness is a Novak language while also a meaningless phrase. Do the Clintons have an non political machine? What does Sully know about the machine in the first place? Their ruthlessness such as in what? Is there any evidence of Bill ever doing anything to anyone? Is Sully Rudy's or Rove's adviser?

pretty much my reaction as well. the same old unsupported assertions, masquerading as assumed "fact".

this is the one constant among them all: rush, hannity, coulter, oreilly, etc.; throw out a bunch of statements, as though they are accepted fact, with no actual examples, and then harangue anyone who challenges them with accusations of being part of the "liberally biased media".

and yet, their choir eats it up.
