Google is seeking to hire in a wide range of fields. They are now using psychological profiling, called an algorithm, to weed through candidates.

I love taking psychological profiles. I clicked on their job offerings to see what I might be qualified for, just so I could take the test.

The answer was none. There isn't a single job offering out of hundreds, legal or non-legal related, domestic or international, for which I even remotely have the stated skills.

Maybe you will have better luck. Factoid: If you land a job in their home office of Mountain View, CA, the head chef at the company cafeteria used to cook for the Grateful Dead.

Memo to Google: Think outside the box. Rather than look for people who can sell your product, look for people who can enhance your product.

What you need are people who can separate the wheat from the chaff and find the best, not the most, of the web. Don't ask people to apply for specific jobs. Just let them take the test and then devise an algorithm to decide which job they're most suited for. The results would probably astound you.

Corporate and technical skills are a dime a dozen. Creative ones are not.

I sat next to a guy claiming to be Google's head chef on a cross county flight into SFO (he was returning from an east coast wedding) A big and goofy fellow in a fun way. We had bulkhead seats without a TV so we talked. I thought he was legit.

Google employees will not tell you how many empolyees they have or what they do and he would NOT say how many meals they serve.

Google wants law review from a top-ten law school?

Not very imaginative.

Also not likely to attract the imaginative type, more like the Wall street type.

They've turned into a bunch of suits. If you want innovation, it's time to find a new company.
