Web Glitch Causes John Edwards to Announce Candidacy A Day Early

John Edwards was set to announce his bid for the 2008 Democratic nomination for President tomorrow in New Orleans. Due to a glitch on his website which went live with the news today, he made it official.

His campaign platform: Changing America, which includes:

"Providing universal health care for all Americans," "Rebuilding America's middle class and eliminating poverty," and "Creating tax fairness by rewarding work, not just wealth."

I like John Edwards. I believe he's sincere and I would feel safe under his leadership. I hope all the Democratic contenders are of as high a caliber as Edwards. One whom I don't like so far: Joe Biden. He can call for withdrawal from Iraq until the cows come home, and I still wouldn't trust him. I hope his time has come and gone.

Welcome, Senator Edwards. It's too soon for me to pick a favorite, but I'm looking forward to hearing lots more from you.

Former Senator John Edwards seems to be a very decent man with a wonderful family, but I think it will be Gore - Obama in 2008.

seems way too long for a campaign season. On the other hand, a lot of things can happen in that time. They may actually be required to take some unequivocal stands. Could be interesting.

Edwards is a refreshing candidate with serious opinions. He is charismatic, young, rugs to riches and still liberal, an excellent debater and above all not a closet Rockefeller Republican (e.g. Clinton, Biden).

Except for Bill Clinton, the Democrats have run a long list of terrible candidates. It all started with the arrogant and incompetent Carter, the grey and pointless Dukakis, the wise but wooden Gore and finally the bumbling and clueless Kerry. We don't need another failed candidate; Edwards is an vast improvement.
