Rudy Leaves Ex and Kids Off his Presidential Exploratory Website

Typical Rudy. He thinks he can reinvent himself.

On Rudy Giuliani's new exploratory committee website you can find a bio of the former Mayor and current frontrunner for the GOP Presidential nomination. The bio describes his current marriage as follows: "In May of 2003, Rudy married Judith S. Nathan. Mrs. Giuliani is a registered nurse with an extensive medical and scientific background." Yet intriguingly, Rudy's bio makes no mention of the two children he had from his second marriage to Donna Hanover, who similarly goes unmentioned.

Now, why did Rudy scrub his kids? (none / 0) (#1)

Because they're an embarrassment on multiple levels.

First, actually, Rudy's kids are more than teenagers.

Here's a 2004 article re Andrew, the pain-in-the-butt son, signing to play golf at Duke.  (Rumor has it, he had bounced from one private high school to another re discipline issues, but really majored in golf at all of them.)  A money quote:

"Duke first started recruiting Giuliani last spring. With assistant coach Kubinski in attendance, Giuliani nearly holed out a 9-iron from 140 yards on one of his first shots of the day. The ball barely lipped out, and his performance was impressive enough to warrant future consideration by the coaching staff.

After a summer of intense work on his game, Giuliani is now a scratch golfer. Last spring his high school team at St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, N.J., won the state tournament of champions and was ranked first in New Jersey. He won the individual competition in the parochial section of the state tournament and finished in the top five overall.

Giuliani believes that despite his famous father, he will be able to carve out his own legacy both on and off the golf course. "

So, while he was intensely working on his game, successfully enough to be a scratch golfer, his contemporaries were working on their basic training and going to Iraq.

Here's his Duke athletics bio:  doesn't he just look, well, you pick the adjective.

Here's a NYDN article on him, ironically published on Veteran's Day 2006, makring his being named "Player of the Year".

The 20-year-old Giuliani, a rising amateur golfer, has been named Player of the Year by the Metropolitan Golf Association, a group representing some 500 golf clubs in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

That was big news yesterday at Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course in the Bronx, the oldest public course in the nation and Andrew's home base for most of his golfing life.

"It's pretty outstanding stuff," said Paul Sliva, Giuliani's pro at Van Cortlandt for the last six years. "You are talking about playing in all the best events in the region, against some of the best players in the country on some of the toughest golf courses in the country."

A sophomore at Duke University, Giuliani won the prestigious award after he finished in or near the top 10 in nearly every MGA event he entered this year, including a win at the Bergen County Amateur Championship at Rockleigh Golf Course in New Jersey on Sept. 10.

Once remembered mostly for his on-stage antics as a pudgy 7-year-old during his father's 1994 inauguration, the younger Giuliani is now a strapping athlete who plays on Duke's top-flight golf team - ranked 20th in the nation.

There's scads more where these came from.  Just google andrew giuliani golf

As to Andrew's sister, I haven't bothered to look.  But, I wouldn't be surprised at anything....

Whether there's a "Naval Aviation" golf team?

    Hmmm...

Not that I'm hatin' on the bruh, but...since when is a golfer an athlete? As a comedian once said, take away the sticks and it'd be called "walkin'.

    here's a link to some worshipper's blog, RudyforPresidentBlog.com.

He hasn't been too active this year.

The key on this site, though, is a beautiful picture of Rudy and Bushie, jackets off, smiling.

I came across the blog as it linked to a story about Andrew and his golf back in August '05.  That page also led off:

"They may want a guy who'd rather be feared than loved"
Kevin Horrigan editorializes in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The "Prince" allusions are sort of tired but probably to be expected with Fred Siegel's book out there:...

I'll pass on Mr. Fear, thanks.

third time's the charm. or, three strikes, and you're out. or, if at first (or second) you don't succeed, forget about it, no use making a damn fool of yourself!

i think he still has enough time for at least one more broken marriage, before the presidential campaign season really gets into full swing. :)
