Bill Clinton: A Help or a Hindrance to Hillary?

The Washington Post goes on for five pages about whether Bill Clinton will be a plus or a minus for Hillary's presidential campaign.

Not much news here. Shorter version: He's both. Must be a slow news day. It sure shouldn't have taken five pages to point that out, especially when neither Bill nor Hillary were interviewed for the piece.

My view: Bottom line: He's a huge asset. He's a political dynamo and a statesman. She's smart and a hard worker. She's held her own as Senator, she'd do the same as President. It'd be nice to have him back in the White House, even as First Spouse.

    the only reason it's hate filled (5.00 / 1) (#2)

is because of the republicans. note that no liberal/progressive policies, based solely on hate of another group, have been passed or suggested, in the past 20 years.

no, the hate is all coming from the republican right. that being the case, i suggest they do the country a favor, and all leave.

hillary and bill, unlike the bush's (dad and son) are capable of clearly articulating a thought, using complete sentences.

mr. clinton, whether you like him or not, is the consummate politician: he truly enjoys what he does, and meeting the people he does it for. it also doesn't hurt that he's a smart guy, unlike the current occupant of the oval office.

what i always found amusing was actual rich, eastern elites (the bush's) accusing a real average joe (clinton) of being a rich, eastern elite. what's truly sad is that our media is so stupid, or lazy, they let them get away with it.

bill clinton, unlike mr. bush, didn't grow up rich, go to expensive prep schools, and get legacied into harvard & yale. no, the clinton's got their's based on (huge gasp from the audience!) merit.

vw, what the country is ready to dump is the bush administration, much as it has already dumped a useless/dangerous republican congress. a republican congress that has, for the most part, been the cause of the polarization of which you speak. them, and their talk radio/tv cohorts.

Hillary needs to stay in the Senate (none / 0) (#1)

She is polarizing, pandering, has no message, is the ultimate insider, lives in a bubble, has been around for far too long, and is just more of the same.  The same polarizing, tired politics of the past 20 years.
It's time to move away from this sad era and on to something better.
Hillary is yesterday.  Just a Bush/Clinton monarchy that will continue the sad and hate filled trend that the country is so ready to dump.
Let her stay in the senate and the country to move forward to healing and better things.
