Daily Show Riffs CNN Blogger Party

The TL kid called laughing to tell me Jon Stewart did a bit on last night's CNN blogger party showing my interview. Colin at Scoophost (which now hosts TalkLeft) sent me what Jon Stewart had to say:

"Yes, apparently partying blog style means typing on a laptop while not partying. At one point, a blogger [you] was being interviewed about blogging while watching herself being interviewed about blogging. I wonder if she'll blog about that."

Not only did I blog about that, I'm blogging about this. And we did party, there was an open bar and many of us partook liberally after dinner. But, thanks, Jon, I appreciate the exposure for bloggers.

[And thanks to Atrios for posting the clip.]

If Jon Stewart makes fun of you, you have arrived!

There's got to have been a better joke though (none / 0) (#2)

Like many, I think the Daily Show is as good a pressure valve at the end of the day as anything else, but they could have come up with a better joke. Nice to see the clip, but the thing just wasn't up to Daily Show standards. Oh well, they can't all be winners. Better luck next time Jon.

The joke they SHOULD have used (none / 0) (#3)

There are so many jokes to choose from, but after 15 minutes consideration, the joke they should have used was:
"The coffee house was not the first choice of location for this gathering of two dozen geeks hunched over their laptops not speaking to one another, but despite the best efforts of producers over at CNN, Wonkette's mother's basement was unavailable."
Actually, that's the kind of commend I would have expected on Weekend Update back before Tina Fey left to do her sitcom. SNL has gone way downhill since then, but we'll save that rant for another time.

Alex of Wonkette was there, here's the picture I took of him. (My other pix of bloggers are here.)
