Welcome, Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi is about to speak. She will be the Speaker of the House of Representatives, two seats away from the Presidency.

How great to not only have a Democrat Speaker of the House and a female Speaker of the House, the first ever, but a true progressive and non-centrist Speaker of the House.

Welcome, Speaker Pelosi. We just lead a clapping cheer for you here at CNN's blogging party.

Pelosi: "Mr. President, we need a new direction of Iraq. Let us find a new solution. The campaign is over. Democrats are ready to lead."

I'm happy with Pelosi too believe it or not.

We can argue about Jane Harman tomorrow.

also address Pelosi's comments about not impeaching Bush/Cheney on her watch. They (the new majority) should get her into the WH as soon as possible to reduce the carnage as much as possible. I don't care how she feels about it.

Yes, there seems to be some promise with Ms. Pelosi.  And I am tickled to see that we will finally have a female Speaker of the House.  I was trying to post a bit about this on some questions on Yahoo Answers, and they seemed to be having trouble.  So, I'll say it here.  Tomorrow, the President wakes up and has the opportunity to choose to be humble about the siz year failure with a chance to do something positive for the next two years. And the shift in the balance of power tonight along with leadership from individuals like Ms. Pelosi will help us to be more productive as a nation in the upcoming years.

    Look out boys, Nancy's here... (none / 0) (#6)

    BIG congratulations, Speaker Pelosi!

uberveritas, I think humble is beyond Bush. Waking up too. I also hope I'm wrong.
