More on the RoboCalls

TChris wrote about the Wisconsin robocalls earlier. Josh Marshall is following all the developments (20 districts so far) and explains how they work.

Crooks and Liars has some CNN video about the scam.

Is this what Karl Rove meant when he said he had special plans for 72 hours before the election?

    RawStory reports that:
"bloggers seeking more information on the company actually responsible for the calls themselves identified their source as being Conquest Communications in Richmond, Virginia. Paul Kiel at TPMmuckraker, noting the "irony of ironies," wrote on Monday afternoon that since posting the report on Conquest, "the company that's been conducting hundreds of thousands of often harrassing calls on behalf of the National Republican Congressional Committee" had "taken down their 'Contact Us' and 'About' pages" which included the company's main phone number."

If you are trying to find contact info for a company that takes this information off their website, you can use The Wayback Machine at Archive.org to look at older versions of their website.

Here are the Wayback Machine results for Conquest Communications. If you click on the latest archive (March 07, 2005) of their site you'll see the Contact Us link works there.

Here's a link to a (long) dairy at Kos, explaining how to snag the robocallers and what to do.

Link button's not working this a.m.

BTW, love the graphic. FWIW, someone should start feeding the porker some of the baby food they fed the real Robocop.
