Giuliani's In for 2008

Rudy's running in 2008.

The former mayor filed papers to create the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Exploratory Committee, Inc., creating a panel that would allow him to raise money for a White House run and travel the country.

How many scandals does he think he can overcome? As I wrote in 2004, "Guiliani, Could You Just Gag?"

If anyone is the personnificaton of the opposite of freedom, it's former federal prosecutor and Mayor Rudy Guiliani. Herr Guiliani is a more apt name for him. How could anyone just not want to retch listening to Guiliani tonight as he tried to sell himself and the Republicans as the party that would bring freedom to the world.

Guiliani cleaned up the streets in New York by arresting the poor, the homeless, the squeegee cleaners, the mentally ill and the addicted. Yes, New York became cleaner, but at what price? At the price of freedom....which he now fraudulently pretends to champion. Sickening.

Not that I feel strongly about him or anything. (sarcasm.)

Hah. This is gonna be most excellent to see him get ripped apart by the Religious Right in the Southern primaries. Can't wait til '08!

...makes me want to slap him silly, since trying to slap some sense into him would be a fruitless effort. But then I guess that was the intention of it. ;-)

this should be entertaining (none / 0) (#3)

The man is a thug, pure and simple.

Which is why I call him Thuggiani.

because, to my ear, the latter just doesn't roll off the tongue as easily as the former.

Of course, we could also call him "cousin f'er", but that's another story.  It would surely go a long ways towards making him more popular in the deeper red parts of the South.

Maybe we will have a real debate on crime and criminology then. Did his "broken window" policy work or is all that a bunch of bull? Is the only safety net prison? Or is that a bunch of bull? Do we prefer fascism or liberty? Or is liberty just a bunch of bull?

There hasn't been a real debate on any of these issues for over 20 years. And what else has he got? Nothing.

Is he running as (none / 0) (#8)

I don't think Giuliani has a chance to get the 'Republican' nomination, because I am pretty sure he is straight, with nothing in the closet. His only hope is pedophilia, but that seems like a long shot.

Check out this YouTube of him, in really bad drag, getting hit on by (and slapping the face of) Trump.

This guy, per today's Daily News, has as one of the "cons" to his run (among Repugs, his party) that for a while he lived with two gay guys and a chihuahua.  (that was after his second wife put him out of the Mayoral residence).

The religious right is going to looooove those photos of Rudy in drag. (OK, it was all for a laugh, but evangelicals still aren't gonna like it.)

he gets the nomination...because he simply cannot win.  Half of NYC still can't stand him...and this is his base!  Half the GOP can't stand him...and that's his party!
