Today's Chutzpah Award: Ellen Tauscher

After her incredibly divisive remarks to the New York Times, Ellen Tauscher has the unmitigated gall to say this to the Washington Post:

"I have a lot of respect for Jack Murtha, but I remain shocked that he is talking about making a run for majority leader," said Rep. Ellen Tauscher (Calif.), a Hoyer supporter and a leading Democratic moderate. "I don't understand it. I'm not supportive of it, and it's having a deleterious effect on what I think and hope will be a huge win on November 7."

Some people have no shame. Ellen Tauscher looks to be a budding Joe Lieberman when it comes to hypocrisy and mendacity.

    Jack Murtha's War (3.00 / 2) (#3)

Jarober, you're a fool. I am willing to believe that Ms. Tauscher is as well, becuase I don't know where she speaks. Where has she been for four years? But I KNOW that Jack Murtha is more than a fool. He is a fraud, too.

If you have read the terrific book "Charlie Wilson's War" you should remember that the only reason he didn't go to jail like the others was because Tip O'Neill was a Murtha buddy, and he put Wilson on the Ethics committee in order to get him off. Prosecutor Barrett Prettyman resigned

To this day, it's been unaddressed. Some members of congress served years in jail. Murtha deserved to lose his seat, but didn't. Making him majority leader would be an insult.

For the anti-war left, the definition is:

"Having an opinion at variance with mine"

Joe Lieberman has not lied? Of course not. Piece of work you remain.

I'm beginning to get confused. Is "Big Tent Democrat"  some sort of parody with a deliberately ironic moniker intended to lampoon the virulently  narrow-minded elements that represent the very worst of what we have to offer?

I hope so, because if this new blogger is meant to be taken at face value it's not a pretty picture.

    Deconstructionist implies thinking skills.

    When will we see them?

That's rich. YOU of all people denigrating anyone else's thinking skills. If you think your childish rants and  slavish devotion to orthodoxy have any relation to thought you're deluded.

Why you were given a platform  from which to steer this site into the realm of the lunatic fringe I caanot fathom. I just hope that when the election is over, TL regains its bearings and seeks to reestablish the credibility it is squandering by allowing you to speak for it.
