For those of you near Denver, forget the snow and come on out tonight:

Amendment 44 would legalize adult possession of up to one ounce of marijuana. I will be a panelist at an event hosted by NORML Board Member and former Washington State Senator George Rohrbacher (DU, ‘70). It is free and open to the public. Here are the details:

Thursday, October 26
7 p.m. - 9 p.m. — “Marijuana: The Unnecessary War”

University of Denver - Boettcher Hall - 2050 E. Iliff Avenue, Denver

it seems that more and more states are beginning to catch on to the idea that fighting mj creates more problems than it solves. CA and CO have had proposals to legalize pot and other states have proposed minimizing the sentences. keep spreading the word so that more of our country will begin to see the rediculous results of the past 20 years of this 'war' on drugs and a possible ease of the situation.

If it passes and I have under the minimum specified amount, am I still at risk of Federal charges, and how much of a risk would it be. Assuming I don't do stupid stuff like taking it through airport security or drive impared.

This was a very interesting panel. The multi-generational group fostered considerable dialogue with the audience and students. It is ashamed weather prevented State Rep. Gary Lindstrom and Dr. Robert Melamede.
Jeralyn, your experience and thought provoking insight is always refreshing at the podium, and you MUST be downright lethal in trial mode! Well worth the effort to come and hear new information sensibly opposing the 70 year tired old guard rhetoric of a 'Drug War' gone wrong. Be well in Omaha!
