Duke Lacrosse Players to Speak Out on '60 Minutes'

The three Duke Lacrosse players accused of rape will speak out for the first time this Sunday on '60 Minutes.'

Ed Bradley speaks with defendants Collin Finnerty, Reade Seligmann and David Evans, who are free on bail pending their trials in the racially charged case that made national headlines. All three of the accused are white; their accuser is black.

Bradley also speaks to the accuser's dancing partner the night of the alleged rape, Kim Roberts.

There's lots of comments about this over on the TL Duke Forum Boards.

way off topic, talkleft, cuz i was traveling the last day, but if i knew you'd be in manhattan the same time as i was, i would have invited to you the bloggers breakfast at carnegies! sorry we missed each other.

Me too, Skippy. Now you'll have to come to Denver.

According to Drudge, Kim, the second dancer, is interviewed on the show and will flat-out deny at least some of the accuser's claims about the alledged rape.

    CBS confirms it.
Says Bradley, "In the police statement, [accuser] describes the rape in this way: 'Three guys grabbed Nikki,' 'That's you,'" says Bradley, "'Brett, Adam and Matt grabbed me. They separated us at the master bedroom door while we tried to hold on to each other. Bret, Adam and Matt took me into the bathroom.' Were you holding on to each other? Were you pulled apart?"
"Nope," replies Roberts, who says she was hearing this account for the first time.
Roberts also denies the accuser's statement to the police that after the alleged rape, Roberts came into the bathroom and helped one of the rapists dress her.
When pressed by Bradley about whether she saw signs of rape from the accuser, such as complaining about pain or a mention of an assault, Roberts says, "She obviously wasn't hurt...because she was fine."

This is the beginning of the end of the hoax. But it may be the beginning of the end of DA Nifong's career.

I don't care about Duke, nor lacrosse, but I do care about falsely accused people. Do you think we'll ever see the potbangers who so delighted in the idea that the three Duke students had committed a crime against a minority will ever apologize? Or at least admit they were wrong? Doubtful. The New Black Panther Party and the Take Back the Night fanatics don't seem to have that kind of integrity.

This is NOT a closed case. There was NOTHING new on 60 minutes. Mike Nifong still has a case. So shut up you pathetic idiots that are looking for the case to be dismissed. It won't happen. As for Dave Evans....QUOTE... "she brought shame on the University". How dare him. It was his own lowlife decision to host a stripper party. They totally disgust me. Mike Nifong will find them guilty and a jury will sentence them to prison. I hope you hear me loud and clear. Do you get my POINT?

Do I hear you loud and clear?  I do and you make no sense.  First and foremost, Nifong doesn't find people guilty. A jury does. Second, a jury doesn't sentence defendants. The judge does. Those are called facts, something we haven't seen from the district attorney in this case.
Look, a rape may have happened in this case. I don't know. But if you look at the evidence that's out there and believe a rape did occur, especially one as violent as described by the accuser, then you are  off your rocker. Do you hear me loud and clear?

My, such vehemence.  Since there was nothing new on 60 minutes, could you please explain why you think Mike Nifong has a case?
