McCain Bails From Reynolds' Fundraiser

Has Tom Reynolds become radioactive? John McCain may think so.

Erie County Republicans on Tuesday quickly recruited White House power hitter Karl Rove to speak at their annual black-tie dinner Oct. 20 after the front-runner for the party's presidential nomination, Sen. John McCain, dropped out unexpectedly.

In addition to speaking at the dinner, McCain was scheduled to lead a rally in Buffalo for embattled Rep. Thomas M. Reynolds, R-Clarence. McCain's office Tuesday scrubbed both events, claiming that the popular Arizona Republican had a scheduling conflict.

The Senate Majority Project may have been a factor in McCain's sudden pull-out:

McCain is under attack for his scheduled appearance for Reynolds in Rochester from a Democratic-related action group called the Senate Majority Project.

"While campaigning for Republican Sen. Lincoln Chafee Wednesday, Sen. John McCain put on his "maverick' face and called for an investigation into the scandal surrounding [Foley]," said Christy Setzer, spokeswoman for the Senate Majority Project. "Yet McCain is currently scheduled to campaign for [Reynolds] who remains at the center of coverup of allegations by the House Republican leadership."

As one Republican said:

Speculating on why McCain scratched Buffalo but kept Rochester in his plans, County Democratic Chairman Leonard R. Lenihan said, "McCain probably wants to limit his association with the main players in the Foley debacle, and our polling data shows that Reynolds has suffered more from this in the Rochester suburbs."

Well, if Clinton hadn't ... Just another imperialist wannabe. So much for the 11th commandment. Silence speaks volumes.

Both of those idiots would be radioactive if the Democrats would stop being complete chickensh*ts.
