CNN Poll: 52% Say Hastert Should Resign

A new CNN poll finds a majority of respondents say Denny Hastert should resign over FoleyGate.

The poll, conducted Friday through Sunday by Opinion Research Corporation, found that 52 percent of the 1,028 adults interviewed think Hastert should step aside. Only 31 percent said they think he should keep his post, and 17 percent had no opinion. The poll's margin of error was plus or minus 3 percent. (Full poll results)

I agree but I hope he continues to follow his ego instead of poll results so the Dems can win by an even greater margin in November.

I guess "the buck stops here" doesn't have the same meaning it used to.

In a similar poll, 48% would give their teen children to Foley for the weekend if it meant keeping Republicans in power.

Hastert is already history. The Congress has already ended until after the election. Even the GOP expects a Democratic majority in the House next year, so the Speaker would be a Democrat, and Hastert's own election is not a gimme, so he might not even be there.

kdog, very amusing ... but I'd say 25% responded 'shut up, the game's on!" ;-)

Hastert needs to check into some I-eat-more-than-some-countries rehab.

et al - Repeat after me. We have elections. Not polls. I wonder what the polls were when Studds' actions were made public?? Well, in MA they must have approved, because he was elected time and again.

Yes we do. In November and polls provide a glimpse into the mood of the people.

Here's what kind of elections we have, Jim. Note all the tampering that has been done in just this one precinct, then look through all their other investigations. There is no way you can look at that and not be disturbed, unless you really don't care about having YOUR vote botched by this corruption.

Yank in London: Its Fauxptography. If you look closely, Foley is reaching through his own body to shake hands.
