How twisted is this? Jesus' General, Defamer and TBogg have more. New York officials want to ban the show.

    Here is an idea for the producers of the show. To mark the anniversary of Katrina have a category 4 hurricane hit the island, then evacuate everyone but those contestants who are poor and black.

    Yeah, it's a dumb idea, but I'm more worried about the NYC officials thinking it's any of their business than I am about the show. I doubt they'll actively try to "ban" anything, but this posturing and whinging is at least disrespectful towards the ideals of the first amendment, if not actually violating it. In the words of the not usually profound Tycho Brahe, on a tengentially related issue:
    The message is this: "That's a nice industry you've got there." Then, a pause. "It'd be a shame if something happened to it."

    jh - And don't use readily available busses and don't announce it until it is too late to anything. Now that's what I call reality TV.

    What a great idea, bring it to the masses, after all not everyone can afford a video game. And for the sequel what better than Christians versus Moslems, now that would get the ratings up no end. And to put a nice bit of spice into the proceedings and maintain historical accuracy, if anybody is voted off why not a bit of stoning, women not allowed mind you, can't have women chucking rocks, that's a man's game.

    I doubt they'll actively try to "ban" anything
    they banned a TV show I worked on, GLOW, but it still played in Peoria and Indianapolis.

    Ernesto, I'm after bigger game. I'm looking forward to the midterm elections to see which GOP politicians get voted off the island. Speaking of political bs, didn't Katrina expose "compassionate" conservatism for what it really is, another word for neglect.

    I'm beginning to wonder about my so-called liberal hometown...banning access to Hezbollah tv, trying to ban Survivor. Speech has enemies amongst the christian right and the pc left.

    Maybe they'll all go nuts and slaughter each other, and they can call it Survivor; The Race Wars, I'll bet everyone will tune in to see that. Thankfully such morally bankrupt entertainment is beneath me, so I guess y'all will have to tell me what happens. I'm off now to watch Girls Gone Wild; College Coeds Get Jiggy with It. :)

    I don't think the show should be banned (don't believe in banning stuff), but I don't believe it should be shown. It is up to CBS network to pull it. And if they go ahead and show it, they deserve all the boycotts and negative press they will get. It's baffling that this would even be produced, let alone shown. I have lost all respect for the Survivor producers.
