Bye Bye Reed

by TChris

Ralph Reed, darling of the Christian extremists, was unable to overcome the stink of his cozy relationship with Jack Abramoff in his first bid for public office. Reed conceded defeat in yesterday's Republican primary, ending his quest to become Georgia's lieutenant governor. More on Reed's failed candidacy here, here, and here.

Another Abramoff snake oil salesmen slowly slithers into the sunset. Hope Reed sees some Jail time, even if it was for defrauding his fundamentalist flock.

    Apparently God voted against him.

With 99 percent of precincts reporting, Cagle had 56 percent of vote, or 224,766 votes, to Reed's 44 percent, or 175,980 votes.
Wasn't even close. Apparently the "right hand of god" was tied behind his back.

Remember the limbo song? "How low can ya go?" Ralph Reed lost his attempt to be the Republican nominee for Georgia's lieutenant governor, and it's a cause for celebration? Talk about thanking God for small miracles... Save the Cristal for later, fellas, just in case..

Reed, the snake oil salesman could, and will go lower. A rat can squeeze through a hole the size of a quarter, Reed can beat that I'm sure. The song's refrain:
Jack be limbo, Jack be quick Jack go unda limbo stick All around the limbo clock Hey, let's do the limbo rock
Limbo is just about right. Good one croc_choda!

Good news. Even better Georgia news is that Congresswoman McKinney is in a run off. Hopefully she will lose again.

Why's that Wile E. Coyote? Do you think that she is misrepresenting her constituents and lying to them like Ralph Reed did?

Back in the late 1990's, before Bush2, I recall a WaPo article in which Mr. Reed waxed oh-so-enthusiastically about how he was going to be able to peddle the influence he had acquired from working with Republicans in Congress. Given the penchant for those who had embraced the "Supply-Side Jesus" and filled their coffers accordingly by preaching what amounts to Christian Hucksterism worthy of the Roman Church selling 'dispensations', I knew back then the guy was heading for a fall. Surprised it took this long, is all.

Croc, anytime extremists get their a$$es handed to them, it is cause for celebration. It demonstrates that the extremist wrong-winger movement in this country may not be as powerful and omnipotent as, say, the bushies were hoping.

Does your vote really count? Did the RPN put its full election stealing process into full swing or were they shedding excess baggage ie damaged cargo that it was. vhttp://blackboxvoting.org/ If they wanted him in he would be there.
