R.I.P. Patsy Ramsey

Patsy Ramsey, the mother of Jonbenet Ramsey, has died of ovarian cancer at age 49.

Rest it peace, Patsy. You endured not only the heartbreak of losing your daughter, but of being accused for years in the court of public opinion of having something to do with her murder.

Someday Jonbenet's killer will be found through DNA testing and you will be vindicated once and for all. Our thoughts are with John and Burke Ramsey today, how sad that they must endure yet another tragedy.

Note to commenters: In respect for the passing of Patsy Ramsey, there will be no comments allowed attacking her or speculating she was responsible in any way for her daughter's death.

Update: The Washington Post has a more thorough article about Patsy.

Patsy's passing makes me very sad. I wish she could have lived to see justice for JonBenet. What she and John and Burke went through -- the tabloids, the accusations, the lies, the bias on the part of investigators -- was horrible, but they kept on keeping on with remarkable strength. My thoughts are with John and Burke now, and the hope that they find peace, and the eventual justice the family has sought for so long.

This news literally took my breath. I cant imagine what Patsy endured and only wish she had lived to see her daughter's murderer brought to justice. My heartfelt hope for peace and justice goes out to this family.

As a mom, I felt deep compassion for Patsy on the loss of her daughter and horror on her behalf at the insinuations that she had anything to do with it. RIP Patsy.

this is a strange one to me. I have long since forgotten many of the happenings in this case, and; was left with the impression that the Ramsey's stonewalled the investigation and are still suspect of knowing and hiding the facts in the case? please, a link showing some likely evidence? I did not know there was such opinion that they were not involved? I was under the impression that law enforcement left this case due to lack of cooperation? sure like to know what you do that would change my reading of the facts

I do not want to rehash the case here. Perhaps on another thread. I recommend you read Judge Carnes 76 page opinion (part one and part two)in which she outlines the evidence in the case and the investigation, starting about on page 65. Again, an RIP page is not a place to debate guilt or the merits of the case.

I think this post was supposed to be only for good wishes (which probably explains the scarcity of comments). The Ramseys had a large Colorado legal payroll and bought much goodwill amongst the Colorado legal community. The important thing is that by now, Patsy has been judged by the one person who knows all, and that truly is the only judgement that counts.
