Internet Advertising to Surpass Newspaper Ads

From Financial Times:

The internet will this year overtake national newspapers to become the third biggest advertising medium by spend, according to authoritative forecasts.

By the end of 2007, internet advertising will close the gap on regional newspapers, the number two medium, but will still be well short of television, the biggest outlet in the £12bn-a-year media advertising market.

No wonder --the prices are much more reasonable. Check out Advertising Liberally and The Law Blog Ad Network.

Anybody seen any Business Plans re starting up a blog? I would especially be interested in information re start up of a newspaper type blog rather than straight political.. Costs? Advertising by the blog for viewers.. And more importantly, anyway to determine a broad location of viewers? i.e. Let's say you are trying to appeal to say, upstate NY. To advertisers, a million hits from Atlanta is of interest ONLY if thet are in the mail order business?

aw - Do you always just insult and never read? As noted, I have been considering an 100% on line newspaper, based on the bi-weekly regional model. i.e. Politics only on the editorial page, with lots of local coverage of church socials, high school sports, family reunions, etc. You know, what the the 99.999% of the rest of the world deems important. Now, if you have any actual information to impart, I thank you. But since you do not, guess what word replaces "thank?"

PPJ: 1. No, I haven't, but a Google search for the phrase 'business plan for a blog' yielded 11 results. 2. You need to figure out the value of a hit on your blog to an advertiser, a very tricky proposition at best. 3. It is my understanding that the ISP logs which record hits to a blog can be localized geographically.
