Rumor: Fitz Met With Plame Grand Jury Today Re: Rove

I'm hearing rumors that Fitz met with the Valerie Plame grand jury this morning. and Rove was the topic of discussion. Perhaps as Jason Leopold reported a few weeks ago, the paperwork for charges is being prepared. More on that here.

I'll be out at Markos' book signing and Drinking Liberally with the TL kid, so if there's any news in the meantime, please update in the comments.

Sidney Blumenthal also reports the investigation is turning towards Karl Rove.

As a bunch of people have been saying all day on a variety of message boards: Rove would never take this "demotion" without a very, very good reason. It HAD to be b/c of the inevitability of Fitz's indictment. So, I see some possibility in this rumor...

Dear Gawd, let this be true! Rove in prison is by definition, Karma.

"I hear you knockin' but you cain't come in!" (with apologies to the late, great Smiley Lewis)

You know what that means, don't you? Fox will have to report some good news.

Rove would never take this "demotion" without a very, very good reason. Here's a fleshed-out version of that theory.

Jeralyn - on a scale of 1 to 10, how reliable would you say this tip is?

obsessed-Thanks for the link to Leopold's new article.
Fitzgerald told the grand jury that Rove lied to investigators and the prosecutor eight out of the nine times he was questioned about the leak and also tried to cover-up his role in disseminating Plame Wilson's CIA status to at least two reporters. ...    Luskin said that Rove simply forgot about his conversation with Cooper when he testified before the grand jury because Rove had been dealing with other pressing matters, such as Bush's reelection campaign. ...   Hadley, sources said, is also a subject of the investigation.
lied 8 out of 9 times...What was he thinking?

BTW-here is the link to the Leopold article in HTML format: link

He was probably lying the 9th time too, but Fitz hasn't figured it out yet. I'll practice my html linking on this Novak scoop

obsessed-Good point. Hard to imagine Rove telling the truth.
Still, he did say, "If I had gone before a grand jury and taken the Fifth Amendment, Mr. Fitzgerald would have that on the street in about two minutes."
Right boobie, like all the other leaks that Fitz leaked. Novak is an a**. He is pathetic. All he is saying in the puff piece here is 'I am still relevent cause I know stuff that you want to know and am not telling.' Must be some kind of deepthroat fantasy. He just continues to suck. We are all yawns about it Bob. Go back to sleep.
