The Grammys : The Winners

The Washington Post has a good rundown. From my perspective:

Best moments:

  • Bruce and everyone on The Midnight Hour tribute to Wilson Pickett
  • Bruce Springsteen ending his acoustic song with "Bring Them Home."
  • Record of the Year: Green Day for Record of the Year for Boulevard of Broken Dreams
  • Album of the Year: U2

    Gotta love Bruce for that. I think you're mixing up Dionne Warwick with Irma Thomas? Unless there was another Dionne in there that I missed.. I felt bad for Mariah, she deserved at least a couple of trophies.

    I attempted to see Sly and the Family Stone at the peak of their popualrity on three occasions. Each time they canceled claiming "food poisoning." I later heard that this was their regular excuse when Sly was too high. So may others more deserving.
