John Murtha Blogs

Congressman Murtha blogs today over at Huffington Post. 78% of the responses he's received to his call for bringing the troops home have been positive. He's now calling for a White House meeting.

Mr. Murtha has all my support, and evidently a large majority of support in the nation. And how telling that not long after he made this call, and the subesequent public reaction, that Iraqi reps read the tea leaves and passed their own resolution demanding a timetable for withdrawal. Murtha has the reins, I hope he takes them for all their worth, and I hope the MSM covers it like tit should.

Rep Murhta is an idiot as are his enablers. He demanded an immediate withdrawls of troops from Iraq and then back peddled as soon as people took him at his word. His proposal didn't ask for an immiediate withdrawl but his statement, direct from his mouth did. What part of speech does Murtha not understand. Or is he just another too long in the tooth politician that thinks he can say what ever he wants and no one will call him on his word He appears to be a dottering old fool in the mold of Sen Byrd. Used by the Left and will be abandonded when his usefulness has been expendend. The Left should be embarrassed by the use of such folks but embarrassment is beyond thier sensibilities.

Jimcee, And it seems the Iraqis agree with him. Or do you think it just a coincidence that not a few days after his call, a bipartisan Iraqi group (when do they EVER agree on anything) asked for a timetable for withdrawal. Murtha, unlike you, seems to have a firm, rational, informed grasp of the situation. Or do you think the Iraqis undeserving of their own nation without our destructive presence? In short, we think we have to stay UNTIL the problem is solved; while the actual Iraqi people think we have to leave FIRST to solve the problem. Read the writing on the wall and stop denegrating an honorable American who is using his freedom to make the situation better.

    that's a lie.
My plan calls for immediate redeployment of U.S. troops consistent with the safety of U.S. forces, to create a quick reaction force in the region, to create an over-the-horizon presence of Marines, and to diplomatically pursue security and stability in Iraq.
