Report: Fitzgerald Visited Rove's Lawyer Today

Raw Story posts that tomorrow's Roll Call will report that Patrick Fitzgerald paid a visit to Robert Luskin, Karl Rove's lawyer, at his Patton Boggs D.C. office today.

Why? Since when do Special Prosecutors make house calls?

Update: I should have figured this our earlier. My speculation: Fitz was probably interviewing the cooperative Rove one more time - and didn't want to have Rove seen at his office or where the grand jury meets.

    My non-lawyerly guess is that Fitzgerald wanted to be seen walking into Luskin's firm's office. He wanted other people to know that he is talking to Lusin. Perhaps he most wanted people in the office to see him there, because we all know how much Washington talks.

    I don't know why! Is there some very obvious answer and you're just being coy? Is this very unusual behavior for a prosecutor to engage in? Aahgh! This whole Fitzmas thing is driving me crazy -- I had no idea there were so many different ways to read tea leaves.

    It pains me tremendously to think that Rove might squirm his way out of serious trouble in this. Maybe it was just one of those "this is your last chance...and I mean it this time" visits.
