List of Reporter Contacts Subpoenaed by Fitzgerald

I just re-discovered this handy little list from Newsday in March, 2004:

A federal grand jury has subpoenaed White House records on administration contacts with more than two dozen journalists and news media outlets in a special investigation into the improper leak of a covert CIA official's identity to columnist Robert Novak last July. They include:

Robert Novak, "Crossfire," "Capital Gang" and the Chicago Sun-Times
Knut Royce and Timothy M. Phelps, Newsday
Walter Pincus, Richard Leiby, Mike Allen, Dana Priest and Glenn Kessler, The Washington Post
Matthew Cooper, John Dickerson, Massimo Calabresi, Michael Duffy and James Carney, Time magazine
Evan Thomas, Newsweek
Andrea Mitchell, "Meet the Press," NBC
Chris Matthews, "Hardball," MSNBC
Tim Russert, Campbell Brown, NBC
Nicholas D. Kristof, David E. Sanger and Judith Miller, The New York Times
Greg Hitt and Paul Gigot, The Wall Street Journal
John Solomon, The Associated Press
Jeff Gannon, Talon News

Note it is not the reporters who were subpoenaed, but records of White House contacts with them.

Boy, that last name really leaps off the page there, doesn't it. Wonder what the ol' Fitz knows about that one...

"administration contacts with more than two dozen journalists and news media outlets" I know Jeff Guckert was in 'administration contact,' but was he 'an' administration contact as well? He is not a journalist, and not a news media outlet. More of a Liar for Hire. Oh wait, that IS a corporate journalist these days. So he is a corporate jouralist, because he is 'a male hooker anxious to make a few bucks at the expense of his country.' I wonder what HIS clearance was. (btw, the Colbert Report was HILARIOUS tonight. It repeats through tomorrow, with Stone Phillips.)

Gannon/Guckert in an interview with Wilson asked him about the INR memo. When asked later how he knew of the memo he said he learned about it from a WSJ article. Well after it was pointed out to him that the WSJ article came out a month after his interview with Wilson, he was never heard from again. Bet Fitzgerald did subpoena him as he was the only non government person who inadvertently admitted to seeing the June/July secret memo. Wonder if he saw it during one of his late night WH 'sessions' with the Chimp.

Gannon has some explaining to do.
I acquired knowledge of the memo and the Wall Street Journal reported on it, but no other media outlet mentioned it. I confronted Wilson about it in a September 2003 interview, for which I was rewarded by a visit from two FBI agents.
Gannon's own tale is from his site (caution: RNC talking points). The WSJ article was written October 17 2003. SusanG Here is a link to the Gannon's I saw the memo/ I never saw the memo, timeline: ePluribus Media
