Jeb Bush's Son Arrested

Update: Smoking Gun has the arrest warrant.

The Jeb Bush household is experiencing parenting problems again.

John Ellis Bush, the youngest son of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, was arrested early Friday and charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest, law enforcement officials in Texas said.

The 21-year-old nephew of President Bush was arrested by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission at 2:30 a.m. Friday on a corner of Austin's Sixth Street bar district, said spokesman Roger Wade.

How Jeb Bush raises his kids is his business. That is until he tells the rest of us how to raise ours. Why it was almost 3 years ago to the day that the Governor announced Family Day - A Day to Eat Dinner With Your Children. According to the Governor, family dinners were a way for children to remain drug free. Now I think I know what the problem with Noel and John is. They skipped too many meals.

I agree, it's none of our business. And I also wish they would stop inviting this kind of attention to their kids' personal lives by embracing the "family values" charade every election season.

A notorious 21 year old, drinking egregiously enough to get a DIP. If the whole damn hypocritical clan didn't shove family values down our throat every time they belched up some words, it would be a non event (at least if your republican). But they do. C'mon folks, this is the problem. We make excuses because we are reasonable. The thugs take no prisoneers. Ergo, progressives=losers these days.

Wow, who ever knew that Jebby was a sex offender. Better not let him into the hurricane shelter. Seriously though, what is with the Bush family? George W. Bush: a DUI plus arrests for vandalism and disorderly conduct Noelle Bush: drug convictions Jebby Bush: sexual misconduct, and now public intoxication and resisting arrest. Columba Bush (Jeb's wife): Falsified a customs claim and was fined over $4000. Then there was Neil Bush and those Thai hookers, but I don't know if that was technically illegal or not. In my experience, it's not at all unusual for an upstanding family to have one black sheep, bad egg, what have you. But I haven't heard of many families on par with the Bushes, and I'm from Kentucky.

What is a Bush brat doing getting drunk, while his daddy's whole extended family is drunk on power? I'm sympathetic. At least he isn't fighting in Bush's genocide in Iraq. He's either a coward, or honorable. Maybe he'll come forward and out his uncles. But then they would have to kill him. I say suspend the law in his case, just this once, and then give us our impeachment rights back.

I do agree the Marines would probably be a good curative for a feckless or wild young man. Had a friend from childhood for whom it performed that very function; he wound up in the honor guard for JFK's funeral.

Whoah! You mean, you can be arrested for being DRUNK in Texas?? .... I am so glad I don't live there. If I ever visit Texas, I'll remember to stay in my hotel room and call up room service, and hope they haven't made that illegal, too.

Sure, you can get arrested in Texas for being drunk. You gotta be very drunk though. Or driving a car while drunk. Or black with beer on your breath. Otherwise, you're usually safe enough. I think Jebbie probably mouthed off to a cop on his way to his limo. That'll get you arrested in any state. Cops don't like arrogant pricks.

It will make being ARSEHOLES that much more pleasurable.

They say children often emulate their parents... As more crap comes out on the Bush regime, the better chance the dems have at winning midterms by default. Noelle should have been incarcerated, and so should this young man... The courts are always talking about setting an example with this that or the other crime and criminal... What better way to "send an example" than to lock up a rich white conservatives son? I would bet that every wrong winger who begged Clinton for information about his hummer will be eerily silent about the extended Bush family... This is important you guys, it demonstrates that despite all the rhetoric about family values and this and that and the other BS, they have just as much difficulty raising a family as anyone else.

Hey, when do we find out about Bill O'Reilly's heroin habit, anyhow? He probably gives himself ruffies and then has forced sex with himself.

I say run the presses double time. Politicians apply different sets of rules to their kids than they do to everyone elses. Every time their kids get in trouble it is referred to as "a private family matter" (and it most certianly should be) but when it is you or your kids your names are dragged through the newspaper and it is anything but a private matter. When they begin to treat the rest of the American people with dignity when it comes to substance use or addiction then it will not be news when they are caught doing the same kinds of things that we mere peasants do. Until then they are fair game!
