Word Surfaces on Dick Cheney

Our conspicuously absent Vice President has sent out word -

U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney has postponed his visit to Alberta in order to tend to duties at home in the wake of hurricane Katrina. Marisa Etmanski, spokeswoman for Alberta Premier Ralph Klein, says the White House contacted Klein's office Saturday.

Cheney had planned to visit Alberta on Thursday and Friday, stopping first in Calgary and then visiting Fort McMurray and touring the oilsands.

Looks like Cheney's been called to clean up Bush's mess once again. He was "on the sidelines" yesterday at the Rose Garden when Bush spoke:

As Bush spoke, Vice President Dick Cheney and Karl Rove, the president's senior political adviser, listened on the sidelines, as did Dan Bartlett, the counselor to the president and Bush's overseer of communications strategy. Their presence underscored how seriously the White House is reacting to the political crisis it faces.

I am sure The Scowl has some documents up his sleeve that prove Saddam Hussein and Osama bin-Laden caused the hurricane. You know, since they were in cahoots over 9/11. And the Kennedy assassination. And the assassination of Lincoln. And the Depression. And everything else bad that has ever happened to the U.S. Along with liberals. And Clinton.

Can this useless sack of rotten taters just have the Big Coronary and spare us his presence once and for all? I mean, at the very least, isn't the VP around for situations like this, to get on the ground, seem concerned, etc.? This load of lard can't even do that much. This administration acts like they're all on heavy meds. A narcotized lack of urgency and compelling concern oozes from all of them.

Deadler-Narcotized is right but it is the Admin who is doling out the sleep potion to all of America. The alarm clock just rang and roused our sleepy opiated masses. We will vote them all out then hold real war-crime hearings. The welcome irony of all those Haliburton cells at gitmo holding the war criminals who built them will soon be realized. The only thing that could derail the purge is another 9/11. I am sure that they are working on it.

The most ominous thing in that press statement is "touring the oilsands." Forget Syria and Iran, Canada's a much shorter trip for the invasion force. I hope I'm kidding.

If Cheney died they would hide it.
