Cindy Sheehan Ad Airs on CNN

I just saw the Cindy Sheehan ad directed to President Bush on CNN. It is powerful. You can watch the ad at Gold Star Families for Peace.

Here's Cindy's latest entry at Huffingington Post.

Thanks for the link Cliff. The PNAC, neocon, rw Zionist references might impress their psychophants on the right, but are pretty main stream criticisms when it comes to realistic analysis of US mid east policy, if you define main stream as those who have their eyes open and are not knee jerk responding to the usual PR and BS. Seems like they and you are grasping at straws to tar Ms Sheehan with the usual straw men of "anti Israel" and "anti semitic". Same old story.

    Cindy's keeeping good company:
As I have walked among the desperate, rejected and angry young men I have told them that Molotov cocktails and rifles would not solve their problems. I have tried to offer them my deepest compassion while maintaining my conviction that social change comes most meaningfully through nonviolent action. But they asked— and rightly so— what about Vietnam? They asked if our own nation wasn't using massive doses of violence to solve its problems, to bring about the changes it wanted. Their questions hit home, and I knew that I could never again raise my voice against the violence of the oppressed in the ghettos without having first spoken clearly to the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today — my own government. --M.L. King

Carefu, QIB, Jesse Helms the drooling idiot (definitely top ten terms of worst human being to ever occupy the modern Senate) has a new book out where he again insists that MLK was a good-for-nothing Commie and identifies the real bigorty in the South with civil rights legislation 'unfairly forced upon [his] community and [his] region' (paraphrased). Won't be long before the usual pundits start giving vent to Helms's "arguments."

Dearest No Name - How can Cliff be "tarring" Mrs. Sheehan by quoting her? galnton - Please. No huggys. A man is known by the enemies he makes. QIB – We have been down this path before. MILK and Gandhi were able to use non-violent protests because the countries/governments they were in were western civilization types with a long history of the rule of law and respect for individual rights. Neither of them would have lasted five seconds in any Moslem country, be that Saddam’s Iraq or his brothers in other countries.

Oh BS Jim, Cliff is intending to tar Ms. Sheehan. However, my point is, of course, that the quotes only impress those like himself that they are damning. We can start the who PNAC/ neocon debate right here if you want, but don't we already know the relative positions?

DonS - Nonsense. She said what she, and she hasn't retracted it. Here is a view from one who was there.
But when “scratched” just a little with some mild political talk, they all responded the same way…”it is America's fault”. No matter what the issue, each and every one of them had the same default…”bad things are America’s fault”.

PPJ-Too bad that you can not blame the UN on this one. Did the Italians forge the fake evidence or was it the Israelis. Who do you blame...terreritsts. Oh right, now I remember your saw, it is the anti-war protesters who are firing up all those resistance forces in Ayrak, they are to blame. I guess the guilty always blame the victims.

Squeak - Wow. A thundering herd of straw horses. What does any of that have to do with Mrs. Sheehan?

Cindy did not "become" an anti-war activist on the death of her son; she was one before. She said she would continue thru August, saying that if he sould have just met with her, she would stop. Now she says she will not stop, no matter if he meets with her or not. MoveOn and others contributions are way up; they will use her until her negatives outweigh her positives. Is someone who has suffered tragedy immune from criticism? Also, she says she won't pay her taxes?

Cliff thinks he can get a pass by using the jew word. Like no one would dare call him an inflammatory bigotted hypocrite. Its hard work mouthing all those talking points of superior ethical beings like Rush and Liddy.

Everyone has at least a slightly different definition of what a troll is. To me, it is someone who posts comments now and again, usually hostile ones, with no intention whatever of engaging in dialogue. justpaul demonstrated what a troll is with his insults followed by a cute little Hannityesque soundbite about Zell Miller. Which he was invited to explain, but of course could not. Cliff has always been in this camp as well, he never engages in dialogue, preferring instead the nasty one-liner. His comment about Cindy Sheehan, though, perfectly illustrates Frank Rich's point, doesn't it? With no answer to Sheehan, he can only attack her. On a side note, it's fun for me to see him betray his ignorance time and time again, because once last winter he made fun of the Tar Heels. Ah, well, there's no accounting for bad taste, either as a human being or as a sports fan. Say what you want about PPJ, but I've never seen him back away from discussing his views, trying to defend them.

I can provide links, but you'd still call me inflamatory. Oh, heck, let's go: " But now that we have decimated the country, the borders are open, freedom fighters from other countries are going in" - from the transcript of Sheehan's remarks to Vets for Peace (an anti-Bush, anti-War group). It's along video and the poor woman is pitiful to watch. Ok, so terrorists=freedom fighters. How about "america s*cks?" from Cindy? “America has been killing people on this continent since it was started. This country is not worth dying for.” Perhaps she's anti-Zionist not anti-Jew (scroll):
It’s OK for Israel to have nuclear weapons but we are waging nuclear war in Iraq, we have contaminated the entire country. It’s not OK for Syria to be in Lebanon. Hypocrites! But Israel can occupy Palestine? Stop the slaughter!
How 'bout some nice semi-coded cabal words bout dem nice Jewish boys running our monkey president:
Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11.
But perhaps that is all the product of a vast right wing media conspiracy. But if not, wow, whatta bunch of stuff to read.... -C

    Ok, so terrorists=freedom fighters.
That's what Ronald Reagan called them back in the '80s. Wasn't he pitiful to watch, too?
How about "america s*cks?" from Cindy?
Her son was killed for a bunch of lies. Then she has to watch Bush make funny jokes about looking for WMD under his desk. I imagine that could disillusion someone. Then there are those who praise the war but would never fight in it. Imagine having to listen to those a-holes when you've lost your kid in it!
How 'bout some nice semi-coded cabal words bout dem nice Jewish boys...
Criticizing the fact that our foreign policy in the Mid-east is pretty much that of the Likud Party of Israel hardly makes anyone a jew-hater. It's just facing reality.
wow, whatta bunch of stuff to read....
Here's some more stuff to read. Especially here and here.
