Breaking News: Cindy Sheehan to Leave Camp

This story just off the news wires… Cindy Sheehan’s mother has had a stroke. The grieving woman who started an anti-war demonstration near President Bush’s ranch nearly two weeks ago said Thursday she was leaving because her mother had a stroke.

Cindy Sheehan told reporters she had just received the phone call and was leaving immediately to be with her 74-year-old mother at a Los Angeles hospital. “I’ll be back as soon as possible if it’s possible,” she said. After hugging some of her supporters, Sheehan and her sister, Deedee Miller, got in a van and left for the Waco airport about 20 miles away.

The Associated Press article is here.

Sadness on top of sadness. Whatever will the Muffled Media do without the only reason they could find in five years to notice the anger of the American people against the coup that seized our government via electronic (and SCOTUS) fraud. Can't wait to hear the wingers blame Mrs. Sheehan for her mom's stroke too. I hear she caused the tsunami. Oh wait -- that was the Swedish homosexuals. What could she have been doing in Sweden?

It will most certainly happen because the right in this country has proven that they have absolutely no shame. The trolls on here are perfect examples . . .

And you know the plane can't fly fast enough to get her home.

I'm sure you are correct. I once had to fly from the west coast to the east for a similar medical emergency and my, but the plane seemed to be made of lead. Here's to hoping that Cindy's mother will recover. And it occurred to me that Bush, having probably heard this latest news, will suddenly appear in Camp Casey so that he can say that he tried to reach Cindy again and well, hey, uh, you know she weren’t there, uh huh, uh huh.

Yep, took four posts for someone to Bush bash. I hope her plane flights aren't too terrible. It's hard enough travelling without anxiety on the other end. -C

Well, Cliff, it took four minutes for the entire vast right-wing conspiracy to Sheehan bash...

scar, it doesn't happen often, but every now and then someone says something that makes me stand up and say: That is utter BS. None of the above comments bash Mrs. Sheehan, and you are the perfect example of someone who just whines and whines and whines. Now on the off chance you are referring to people disagreeing with her political position let me sum it up, dear scar: Disagreements happen. Grow up. We weren’t put here to agree with everything you, Mrs. Sheehan, or anyone else for that matter, says.

Actually, Jim, I wasn't referring to Cliff when I said "the entire vast right-wing conspiracy." And I wasn't referring to Sheehan-bashing in this comment thread. I'm saying that it's a little silly to play the solemn/considerate card at this point in the Swiftboating.

Oh, they're real considerate. There are tens of thousands of splattered families in Iraq who are JUST AS INNOCENT AS MRS. SHEEHAN. Just as human. Just as endowed with inalienable rights. Just as worthy of protection by international laws and standards. As for 'Bush-bashing,' sheeit, I'm not interested in bashing him. I just want him to be tried for his ruthless crimes and then hanged out of his socks. Nothing personal.

So, are you, as a Leftwinger, saying that the whole Mrs. Sheehan spectacle is the same as the Swiftboaters, which the Left all condemned as liars? Hey, works for me.

I really really resent being called vast. I have been watching my food intake, eating more chicken, doing the d*mn elliptical machine, and even the dreaded situps and pushups! :-) -C

Yeah it does get really hot in Texas this time of year. Kind of uncomfortable. Time to move on...nothing to see here. Now let's all rejoin the John Roberts gong show!

I bet by tomorrow at this time powerlie, michelle malaprop, o'lielly, rush et al, will be blaming Sheehan's Mom's hospitalization on her. Cliff, keep up the good work, (the excercise, not the commenting;-) BTW, know why cajuns* don't go elephant hunting? They can't get the decoy in the pirogue! (yeah, you probably already heard that one.) *It's funnier if you use 'coonass' instead of 'cajun', but apparently coonass isn't PC anymore. When I lived below I-10 coonass was on license plates and seemed to be a proud and accepted self appellation. I always thougtht it was bastardized from 'quien es?' due to the confluence of Acadian, English, Spanish and French languages. Kinda like 'hoosier' for 'who's there?'

I hope Ms. Sheehan's mom comes through this crisis OK, she has enough heartache to deal with right now.

Jim: "Disagreements happen. Grow up. We weren’t put here to agree with everything you, Mrs. Sheehan, or anyone else for that matter, says." I'm glad to see the nihilism finally coming out. There is no one demanding that you like Mrs. Sheehan's views on fabric softener. Grow up? Suffer a feeling. Step out from the cottonballs of your self-delusion and have a look at the lake of blood your boy has produced. It's all words, like the imbecility of saying 'Genocide Happens.' The knuckle-dragger's beautiful mind. Though many may be afraid of the rightwing, there are very few who aren't looking on in horror at their egotism, greed, and moral unconsciousness.

PPJ, time to get back on the meds, your lucidity and reading comprehension skills are waning. A five year old can understand that in both of scars comments she is saying: 1)In the first comment s/he is saying that after Mrs. Sheehan made her feelings about the demise of her son public it took the Rethuglican Slime Machine about four minutes to come up with a plan of attack to discredit her. Scar was not referring to any previous comment on this thread. 2)The second comment was comparing you and all of the other Preznit Shrub apologists to the liars in the Swiftboat Vets for (Un)Truth gang. You knew all of this but you still have to pretend that somehow other people aren't being clear enough (and this tends to happen with you when your lame assertions and misrepresentations are exposed). You are pathetic. As for Mrs. Cindy Sheehan my truly heartfelt condolences go out to her and her family. But I am sure the sleaze that pass themselves off for Republicans will somehow twist this around to make it Cindy's fault her mother had a stroke. And if they did I wouldn't be surprised because there is no shame or the very shred of human compassion left in the Conservative movement in this country.

ShermBuck - Say what you mean and mean what you say is good policy. scar should try it. But yes, I had a hunch that was what she (?) was doing, and if you were near as intelligent as you think you are you would have recognized my comment as making fun of scar's really dumb/unproven attack. But then I guess you aren't. Want some of my daily meds? That'd be one multi vitamin, one supplement (Saw Palmetto) and one 81 mg asprin. A good wine to wash'em down with is optional.

Apologies for the OT cliff - don't remember that, but I remember Clarence Cochon, the urban pig on Lafayette radio commercials and we used to watch Pat Patou's (sp?) show out on the rigs. The tool pusher would tape them at home and bring them out for our 7/7 shift. Reply on Friday open thread if you want.
