Ohio Governor Taft Charged With Four Misdemeanors

Ohio Governor Taft is the first sitting Ohio Governor to be charged with a crime while holding the office. He was charged today with four misdemeanors for failing to report rounds of golf he received as gifts.

The charges were outlined at a press conference this afternoon with Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien and Columbus City Attorney Richard C. Pfeiffer Jr. If convicted on the first-degree misdemeanor charges, Taft faces a maximum fine of $1,000 and up to six months in jail on each count.

Taft's lawyer says the omissions and errors were inadvertant. Following the story: Grow Ohio and Hypothetically Speaking. The latter has been on this for weeks and has been doing a great job.

50 golf trips inadvertant oversight? Hmmm. More bad news for the Red state regularly getting the wind knocked out of itself...no wonder Ohio is turning Blue.

This isn't the only story breaking on Taft this week. Over at the Panda's Thumb, Wes Elsberry reports that
...Governor Taft’s appointees on the State Board of Education who voted in anti-science changes to the science standards adopted in 2002 and a “critical lesson plan” in 2003 were contacted by his staff to make sure that they knew Taft strongly supported the “intelligent design” measures.

Once again I will defer to my buddy Nelson Muntz. Nelson, any comments. Nelson:"Ha Ha."

Tip of the iceberg, some of his insider Republican buddies are going down soon. They have made millions off of taxpayer money.
