    What? Dean didn't write his critique under a hilarious nom de plume like "Nasty, Brutish, Short, Sleepy, and Dopey"? I guess we can rule him out for the Supreme Court, no?

    AmericaBlog now reporting that Novak claims he heard about Plame from Judy Miller! Novak claims Rove (and Libby, no doubt) just confirmed or acknowledged to Novak they had "heard it" too. This again confirms for me that Miller is sitting in jail asserting the 1st amendment so she doesn't have to assert the 5th! Now I wonder if its only because she's an accessory to the leaking crimes of others, or because she herself is CIA?! It also explains why the NYT had to have a separate strategy from the WaPo, why they dissolved their joint defense. They couldn't give up Judy like Time gave up Cooper's notes. Once more I wonder why they didn't throw her out and under the bus so much earlier. the only explanation I can think of is that she's also protecting them. I also think Novak is free because Ashcroft immunized him from prosecution when Ashcroft had the investigation, before Fitzgerald was appointed. (My theory, yet to be corroborated.)That's why Novak originally--before immunity and NOT under oath but only to the press--said THEY (his gov't sources)TOLD HIM about Plame. After he got his immunity from Ashcroft/Rove, he could change his story for the Grand Jury to I TOLD THEM,I GOT IT FROM JUDY. Who's gonna contradict that? He's totally safe from perjury charges. Rove and Libby will never say THEY gave it to him and judy will never testify. Novak can protect Rove and Libby like they protected him by making sure he got immunity. And, I do not agree with Dean that this will prosecuted in the manner he suggests.

    I also have to add that logic, if applied here, says that exposing even a former covert operative endangers those people abroad who, in the past, worked clandestinely with her.

    I know it's highly unlikely that anyone in the Bush administration will ever be prosecuted in this case. But boy would I'd love to see Rove go to prison and have some of those hard-core pipe hitting brothers make him squeal like Ned Beatty in Deliverance. Here piggy piggy piggy. That would be justice. And Robert Novak down on his knees tossing salads as well. I can dream can't I
