No Resignation Today by Rehnquist
Bump and Update 6:40 pm ET: The Supreme Court has closed for the day, no word from Rehnquist. Scotus Blog reports the White House Press office says no news tonight. The Supreme Court press corps has gone home. MSNBC said the press has been told there will be no more statements from President Bush tonight either.

The much anticipated retirement announcement by Chief Justice Rehnquist has not materialized yet today.
Though the White House insisted Friday that it had not been in communication with the Supreme Court over the timing of a resignation letter from Chief Justice William Rehnquist, rumors abound that his departure is imminent.....Senior advisers to Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, as well as top aides to Sens. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., and Patrick Leahy, D-Vt. — the top senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee — told FOX News on Friday that they knew nothing of a planned retirement announcement scheduled for Friday.
