Judith Miller Placed in Alexandria Detention Center

Editor and Publisher reports that Judith Miller has been delivered to the Alexandria, VA detention center.

When the judge sentenced New York Times' reporter Judith Miller to jail Wednesday afternoon, he did not say where it would be, but E&P soon learned that it would be just outside Washington, D.C. Later, she was seen entering the Alexandria (Va.) Detention Center, according to the Associated Press. The Virginia facility's best-known resident is convicted terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui.

The jail was built in 1987. Here's the jail's website. And here are some notes from a female prisoner held there in 1988 who didn't like it too much.

If you'd like to write Ms. Miller, here is the address:

Alexandria Detention Center
2001 Mill Road
Alexandria, Virginia 22314

Dear Mrs. Miller, Next time, try not to be such a Republican shill. You thought you were going to score a real big win for Bush with your outing of Plame.....you ended up in prison. [name calling deleted.]

My letter... Dear Judy...If I were you I would ask the prison to put a suicide watch on me immediately. Your erstwhile friends don't mess around and they sense an opportunity here to make sure you never talk again.

(with aplogogies to Cary Grant and Goober) Judy, judy, judy; you said "I also know that the freest and fairest societies are . . . those with a free press . . . publishing information the government does not want to reveal," Except what you did was PROMOTE the lies of the gov't. From chalbi to rove, to blackmailing the unit that you were embedded with, you have done nothing but cheerlead for the bush admin. Me thinks she doth ... well, you get the idea. Maybe you can get a book deal about prison rape when you finish your sentence.

Actually, this may be her lucky break. Maybe a week or two in prison will disabuse herself of her misbegotten loyalty to the Bush regime. Then she could turn her attention to outing their fabrications, conspiracies, and Herculean graft. But, probably, she eats kibble from Jr. Bush's blood-covered hand.

Karma for blatantly promoting false patriotism in the run up to the Iraq invasion and subsequent occupation. "What about Bob?"

Fenria If you're going to attack someone, get your facts straight. Judith Miller never even wrote an article about Valerie Plame or the leak. She did some reporting, that was it. No story appeared. She did not in any way "out" Valerie Plame. That was done by a Government source (or more likely, sources) via columnist Robert Novak. In a strange twist of events, Robert Novak is not facing prison, and has refused to comment on whether or not he cooperated with the Grand Jury.

Dear Judy, Thank you for being you. How is the chow? Has the NYT paid a mule to smuggle in some caviar and champagne to you? I do worry so that all the time you have spent sitting and crafting such great propaganda may have left you a bit too delicate for the rigors of prison life. Maybe you will form some lifelong friendships. Well, try to make a go of it and don't forget to use the free weights, they increase muscle mass and strength fairly quickly, in order to protect your "fresh fish" status. Oh yeah, Ahmed Chalabi says"Ha Ha!". What a joker.
