Poll: War Not Worth Fighting

by TChris

Was it worth the price that the United States paid -- and continues to pay, in lives and credibility -- to invade Iraq? Most Americans sensibly answer "no."

[A]ccording to a CNN/USAToday/Gallup poll released on Tuesday[:] Fifty-seven percent of those polled said it was not worth going to war compared to 41 percent who thought it was.

Reality has replaced enthusiasm since April 2003, when 73 percent of respondents thought the war was worth fighting.

hope the 41% who still think this is a good idea will invest their children in this great cause. Or go over themselves and check out the progress.

In a situation where the people have been lied to so extensively, by those they trust in the media, much if not most that 41%, if it exists, would draw the same conclusion facts in hand. Lincoln made the point that if the people are told the truth, they will generally make the right decisions. That's the beauty of democracy, but this isn't that case. How many Americans heard that Blair and Bush conspired to invade at least as early as July 02, when Bush and Blair were lying to their legislatures and the people about their intentions. AND THEY ARE STILL LYING. Politics, ha-ha, but it's not a game. People are dead, and the Constitutions of both countries have been violated. That's at least an impeachment crime in either case, but these elections are rigged, at least on this side of the Atlantic.

Damn, the last minute grammar fixes get you every time. Preview, preview on the wall... Much if not most that 41% would NOT draw the same conclusion facts in hand.

I suspect the 41% are mesmerized by televised sports, fox news, american idol. They may be immune to facts in hand at this point. I think the means to wake the 41% from their stupor is for their children, spouses, loved ones and selves to do a tour in Iraq. I know it will mean they miss the next round on survivor, but there's another survivor game going on in the world. Enlist and enjoy.
