Chief Justice William Rehnquist returned to the bench today. He swore in new lawyers and listened to oral arguments.

    i thought they took him off life support, after florida, bush didn't need him anymore

    I never thought I would be glad to see Rehnquist on the bench, but these days with the specter of Bush appointments to the bench, Attilla the Hun looks like a moderate. Welcome back, your honor.

    is it coincidence that he returns when this Schiavo case seems headed in SCOTUS' direction?
