John Ashcroft's New Gig

Former Attorney General John Ashcroft has a new job - teaching at a Christian university.

He'll be a part-time professor at a Christian university run by television evangelist Pat Robertson. Ashcroft, 62, will begin teaching a one-week course on "leadership in times of crisis" on April 4 at Regent University in Virginia Beach. Jay Sekulow, a Regent University trustee, said the former attorney general will teach a two-week version of the same course during the college's summer, fall and spring semesters beginning this year. Ashcroft also will lecture on national security law.

Seems appropriate to me. I would think all of the Ashcroft haters here would be very pleased since he's now out of the way and out of "the mainstream".

Why is this news? Has he ever hid the fact that he is a Christian?

Aschroft, required by law to hold a formal investigation of the 2000 election, after the Commission on Civil Rights found a prima facie case for racial discrimination. He wasn't interested in following the law; he was too busy defending the gun rights of terrorists. And anyhow, he danced with the traitor who brung him, and now he can wear the shame. Kingdom come, and the Narrow Gate is locked. Tough luck, bub. Guess you shouldn't have betrayed your religion to line your pocket. P'tui.

how is this any different than the long succession of losing Democrat candidates ending up as lecturers in secular (i.e., left-wing) universities?

I'll never forgive Robertson for all the money he swindled out of my grandmother. "The preacher in the old time gospel hour stealing money from the sick and the old. Well, the God I believe in isn't short of cash, mister." Him and Asscroft go good together.

the reason for lack of interest in this thread, is that people see ace has posted here. they know that all they'll see is a bunch of incoherent ramblings and move on
