New Altercation Links Contest

Have you been wondering how to get a link on Eric Alterman's Altercation blogroll? Eric has announced the third Altercation links contest:

Alter-links: It's time for another Altercation links contest. The blogosphere keeps expanding and it's easy to miss some really good sites. I've drafted Jeralyn again to take your nominations for blogs that should get the coveted slots on the right in our high-powered MSNBC.com blogroll.

Send nominations to her, not me, at alterlinks@aol.com. There's no point in stuffing the ballot box because once she's aware of your blog, it's "Merritt" driven. (Hint: Without a link to Altercation, don’t bother. Judge Jeralyn would probably appreciate a link too.)

We're getting a great response, there's still time. We'll be taking a look at every submission. The mailbox again is alterlinks@aol.com.

"Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair." Ha, ha. And--no. This isn't a submission. Just a little humor in this vast, graffiti-filled wasteland we call the internet.

I'm blogless, but if I was blogged, I'd rather be on Jeralyn's blogroll than all the Altercations in the world.

    Immodestly, I nominate Obsidian Wings.

My suggestions would be Liberals Against Terrorism or Legal Fiction although Total Information Awareness is also worthy of a mention (shameless I know) [Ed. Please send your suggestions to the alterlinks @ aol. com email address. Leaving them here will not guarantee they will be evaluated. Thanks.]

As an appreciative member of the Alterblogroll (knock on wood), I would like to nominate Prof. Johnson's witty and trenchantly progressive blog, What Would Dick Think?

I would like to suggest taking a look at 1115.org....those guys have been doing a wonderful job for well over a year (they were nominated for "best political blog" in the Bloggie awards), but not nearly enough people know about them.

I'll nominate two bloggers: Billmon (Jeanne D'arc recently called him "the only genius the blog circuit"), and, well, me...

For once, I'd like to do a little self promotion. Thanks very much.

I nominate myself based on a history of mildly irritating Eric on h-diplo and I would promise to continue doing so from a vantage point on his blogroll. My second nomination would be for one of praktike's blogs. Very thoughtful bunch even when they are wrong ;o)

No shame in *** my own blog. It's new, it's not got a big back archive, and I haven't updated in a week due to a move (and due to the fact that no one was reading it). But I've been told that I shouldn't be so touchy about rejection and that I can't lose any dignity by simply submitting it. No Personal Defeat [Ed. send it to alterlinks@aol.com if you want it to be considered.]

Both you and Eric have been linked on my blog since day one. I nominate myself.

One site/blog I've found it a pleasure to read is www.outrageoftheday.com. The writing is good and they often find stuff that is outrageous but not reported widely.

It's good to see Chris Mooney is already in there, but I'd recommend boosting the science quotient a bit more with The Panda's Thumb, or if you want your science mixed up with some rabid liberalism, there's always me, at Pharyngula.
