Michael Jackson: It's Only the Flu

Michael Jackson made the headlines this morning when he was taken to the emergency room instead of to court. It's only the flu, but he has been admitted to the hospital. Jury selection will resume Feb. 22.

    What I don't understand is why Michael Jackson being ill is considered newsworthy?? He is an "has been" and sheesh! it's only the flu! Millions get it without a doctor visit.

    Get well soon, Michael. Really, get well. Soon. I have sympathy for this guy. Look at his eyes, he is a frightened child. Very sick and crazy. Don't let your kids go near him. How long would he last in a prison? Do we need to kill off this case of arrested development? I do wish there was a punishment phase for the families who cozied up to him for the vicarious benefits and put their children at risk, but I can't really support any legislation or policy that would cover that as a crime. Just old fashioned greed and self-delusion. It's the fashion these days.

    Yeah, it's only the flu. And quite frankly I'm tired of the media trying to make this into something that it isn't. This is such a media-created drama. Nobody forced then to camp outside of Jackson's hospital, praying for something more dramatic to be happening. And I think it's ridiculous for some folk to engage in psychological analysis simply because the man has the freakin' flu.
