Study: Lack of Correlation Between Immigrants and Crime

A new report finds that growth in the number of persons who are unlawfully present in the U.S. does not lead to higher local crime rates." Previous studies did not differentiate between lawfully present immigrants and those who are unlawfully present.

There is no immigrant crime wave in the U.S. Unfortunately, there is manic xenophobia thanks to the man with the desk in the oval office.

Undocumented persons often live in communities together.  Somehow I doubt that the undocumented rush to police attention to report crimes committed against them by the fellow undocumented or that they stick around to testify in court a year later.

... silly, specious "theories" like these is that, since they're nothing more than baseless, fact-free smears, you can just dismiss them, especially when used to try to discredit actual, scientific studies.

    Laughable, really.

as I would expect that most illegal immigrants generally try to fly pretty low under the radar so as not to get busted for being here.

That said, lately our area has been all aflutter at the revelation that Chilean gangs of thieves, typically in the US legally - at least initially - on 90 day ESTA authorizations or tourist visas, etc., have been methodically stealing cars, robbing homes and businesses.

One jewelry store owner that was robbed led the police to stake out his brother's jewelry store to catch what looked like the same thieves that robbed his store, only to have the police let the thieves go.

As it turns out, SoCal is not the only areas targeted in the US, as the Chilean syndicates are also active in Canada, Australia, England, etc.
