Kim DotCom Sings Mr. President to Obama

Kim DotCom's new video, Mr. President, is out.

What about free speech, Mr. President
What happened to change, Mr. President?
...Are you pleading the 5th Mr. President?
Are you going to fix this Mr President?

It's got cool photos of Anomymous members, the Megaupload defendants in jail, happy people singing in the streets, a catchy tune and good direction and sounds, undoubtedly by Printz Board, the musical director for the Black Eyed Peas, who worked on the MegaUpload song.

I've listened to it 5 times already, and it gets better each time. [More...]

"We must expose the people who chose to turn innovation into crime."

And a plea for people-powered politics:

Let's get together, let's all unite
Or they will do whatever they like
...It starts with you and me
We will make history

@Kimdotcom. He may be my favorite person of the year so far.

is endlessly fascinating.  I had to stop following links to get to work.  He is smart and knowledgeable and articulate and fearless.  He's connected the dots from the raid on his home and business to the Vice President's office.

I think the VP, FBI and Justice department may have picked the wrong guy.

...US citizen.  The message is good, but just odd for a German to address our President in a political ad about US legislation.

But then again, it is the country trying to lock his a$$ up, so I guess he's earned it.  And no one here seems up to it.

    Why is that weird? (5.00 / 1) (#5)

He was arrested in New Zealand for alleged crimes against US law.  I don't know about you, but I feel the scope of that raid had to have had approval from the highest levels of the Justice department.  Do you think using the FBI for this was done without the blessing of the President?  And it's misapplication of US legislation.

He's addressing what we all "know" to be true, although we haven't seen the evidence connecting the dots.  And he's not pretending that he doesn't know what he knows -- even if he can't quite prove it.  yet.

Besides, he's a musician.  Musicians have been calling it like they see it forever.

...because someone from another country is producing political a ad meant to influence US legislation, or rather our participation in world governing board.  He doesn't live here, nor is he a citizen, and his case is about already established law, not ACTA.

with Americans? Also, a lot of American artists support him/his site. And it's other Americans that are giving him grief.

Should no one protest/speak out about other governments?

I'm not against the video, I like it, I like the cause, and I like kim.com

I just find it odd that ~25 nations are on board and he takes aim at the one that could determine his future.

ACTA will not impact on his current predicament.

Clearly before I respond I need to actually watch the ad to see what you're talking about.  I can't do that from work.

So I'll stop opining on that aspect for now :)
