NORML Relaunches Times Square Billboard Ad

Via CelebStoner,

NORML's famous "Money Tree" ad is currently running 18 times a day in New York's Times Square in the Super Screen located below the CBS eye across the street from Ripley's Believe it or Not. From 9 am to 1 am, the 15-second spot flashes once an hour.

CBS initially banned the ad but changed it's mind in March.

would be "money can grow on trees, but freedom is still priceless."

With all the steam being gained on the reform front due to the dollar signs, lets not forget the best argument, the moral based argument...individual freedom.

Times Square and Ripley's Believe it or Not...

Some years ago I was in Ripley's.
It was near closing time, and I was watching this wheel.
The wheel had wavy spokes going from the center on which were steel ball bearings. As the ball bearings rolled down from the center to the edge, the weight of the ball pushed the wheel down and made it turn.

In front of this was a sign reading, "Perpetual Motion?"

I watched this for about 10 minutes.

Finally, it was closing time and a custodian asked me to leave.
Before doing so, I asked him, "Is this really perpetual motion?".
"Yes", he answered. "Until I switch it off".
At which he pulled a switch and the thing stopped.

    I love New York.
