Update: Disaster averted. Jennifer Grey wins.

Update: Sarah Palin, despite earlier reports to the contrary from TMZ, is a no-show. She's peddling her book in Phoenix. Probably avoiding the huge boo-ing that would ensue if Ms. Log to Broom actually won.

Update: 9:46 pm: Bristol scores the lowest again with the judges. Report: She was her usual wooden-legged self, getting pulled along by her partner. Jennifer gets a perfect 30, Kyle and Lacey 26. My latest prediction: DWTS will "adjust" the viewer votes if necessary rather than let Bristol win and destroy the show's reputation for future seasons. Security is immense. Bristol Palin has her own bodyguard and bomb sniffing dogs are on scene. Wherever Sarah Palin goes, trouble is sure to follow. If only she'd stay home.

Classy (not) Bristol tonight: Bristol Palin tonight: "Bristol says winning would be a "big middle finger" to everyone who hate my mom and hate me. The fighting Palins." [Added: Not quite. Her exact words were: Winning would be "like a big middle finger to all the people out there that hate my mom and hate me." ]

Jennifer Grey said she ruptured a disk yesterday and went to the doctor to get fixed up. She sure has a lot of health issues, which makes her accomplishments this season even more exceptional.

From the opening voiceover, it doesn't sound like Bristol wins: "Voice Over: "One will stand above the rest, and in that instant, the champion will realize what they did was, indeed, enough." Bristol hasn't done anything, let alone enough.

Last night it was all about calling people "Haters".

JG is holding up pretty well I think. She started out with past injuries and I think they've done well working around them and not compromising the level they are dancing at. Isn't she the oldest to make it this far (and dance this well?)

has plates in her neck from a car accident and many other issues. She's really amazing.

Bristol's middle finger comment was just so juvenile and trashy. Why am I not surprised.

We're the same age and about the same size. I need to get off my behind again and get moving :)

I'm a little surprised that SP didn't make it in for the final. Speaking as a daughter who's close to her mom, that's one time when I wouldn't think twice about her being there. Heck, her daughter is where she is because of her!

and Jennifer Grey was by far the best, though Kyle Massey (whom I'd never heard of before he was on this show) did really well too. Bristol was a joke--getting 9s for being "dragged" around by her partner.

Jennifer Grey has been amazing. I do think their Argentine Tango is the best I've seen, and I'm also an avid watcher of So You Think You Can Dance.
Kyle Massey is a star on the Disney channel so, with the demographics in my house, we hadn't heard of him before the show either.

I mean, who taught her noun-verb agreement? "everyone who hate my mom and hate me" No matter how many of them folks there are out there, "everyone" remains singular. Anyone who grew up in a home where people speak English (and went to college(s)?) would know that by ear, if not by grammar rule, wouldn't she?

I've been reading a rather long article/study from the NYT which, basically, features the alarm our educators feel at what's happening to our youngsters. The addiction to multiple electronic gadgets, often being utilized simultaneously, have rendered so many of our kids incapable of anything resembling normal communication. They've even begun speaking in some sort of shortened, digi-speak mimicking the abbreviated made-up words we're all familiar with.

Were it just a fad, similar to those of previous generations, it wouldn't be so bad, but its not. Many medical experts studying this phenomenon claim the damage being done, namely being conditioned to the very damaging effects of "multi-tasking," at a time when their brains aren't fully developed yet, may leave them incapable of normal, adult absorption of information as they grow older.

it was accurate if it came from the WSJ? I assumed it was accurately quoted as well. Peter does not deserve the criticism you are leveling at him.

espoused by Bristol's parents are in fact home-schooled these days. They believe that a lot of what I think is best and most important about the public schools (the better ones, at least) -- tolerance, diversity, a secular atmosphere, critical thinking, the scientific method for advancing knowledge of the world around us -- is in fact something they wish to keep their children away from. I was sincerely asking. In deference to TL, however, I will now drop this, since it doesn't concern DWTS.

live blog misquoted her, I provided the link when I wrote it. After IG's comment I checked the dvr. BTW, she said people "that" hate my mom...not people "who" hate my mom. So while not as bad, she is still off on her grammar -- people aren't things.

I just re-listened (four times due to her poor enunciation) and her exact words were: Winning would be "like a big middle finger to all the people out there that hate my mom and hate me."
