Update: Golden Globe show thoughts:

9:01 pm: The full winners list is here. (I switched to "24" at 8, so didn't catch the past hour.

7:55 pm: So glad Christopher Walz won best actor in Inglourious Basterds. He was great as the SS officer -- there were so many facets to the character's personality, it was like five characters in one.

7:05 pm: I always love when Merly Streep wins and she deserves it for Julia and Julia. Really emotional and moving acceptance speech, you could hear a pin drop.

6:45 pm; Julia Roberts sitting next to Paul McCartney. Cher looks great. This is such a much better show than the Oscars. Avatar first nomination: Best original score. Will it win? No, "Up" wins this one.

6:35 pm: Glenn Close looks very pretty. Juliana Margolies wins for The Good Wife. I didn't like the show the first few episodes, but it grew on me, as did her acting. I'm glad she won. Damages wasn't that good this season. Great slam at NBC, she thanks her network "for believing in the 10:00 drama." [More...]

6:13 pm MT: Ricky Gervais was funny, Nicole was stunning and referenced Haiti really well, and the winner of the best supporting actress was incredibly passionate and filled with grace.

I think Penelope Cruz and Kate Hudson look really good, I like their dresses. Some of the other dresses, not so much.

Edie Falco didn't win, but she looks great with a tan.

The 67th Golden Globe Awards will be broadcast tonight on NBC and the red carpet arrivals are ongoing. It's raining in LA and there are umbrellas everywhere. All the stars have ribbons for the Haiti victims and many are careful to tell the interviewers they know the show isn't as important as what's going on in Haiti. [More....]

Here's the complete list of nominees.

Up in the Air scored a leading six nominations for the 67th Annual Golden Globes. Nine was next with five, followed by Avatar and Inglourious Basterds with four. On the TV side, newcomer Glee led all contenders with four nominations, followed by 30 Rock, Damages, Dexter and Big Love, with three apiece.

The latest presenters list is here. The Red Carpet begins on E! at 3pm PT, 6pm ET.

You can also follow E!'s Red Carpet on Twitter. Over at TV Guide Network, the red carpet also begins at 3pm PT and is being hosted by Chris Harrison (The Bachelor/ette) and Carrie Inaba (DWTS.) It will feature a 3-D Hologram Glam Cam .

Watched "Public Enemies" (5.00 / 1) (#5)

on this rainy, cool afternoon. I thought it was very good, although I do love that period and enjoy Johnny Depp. "Inglorious Basterds" continues to be among my favorites--no too much in the way of recognition. Christoph Waltz, the Austrian actor who played the Nazi SS officer, deserves the award for best supporting actor, if not best actor.

Public Enemies, it was very depressing and long, but I love Johnny Depp in anything. I've seen Inglorious twice now and liked it much better the second time, and yes, Christoph Waltz deserves an award. He had such a great range -- very non one-dimensional.

depressing, I don.t know. It did appear to be historically representative as Hollywood goes and gave some insight into the rise of Mitchell Palmer's protege, J. Edgar Hoover, and his faux law and order and red scare schtick , that carried him for forty years. But, I have a friend who has the same view as you, plus the added criticism that it somehow did not all come together.

She's always been one I enjoy in nearly every role she's played.

If you didn't read it today, she contributed $1M to the Haiti relief fund. (That's normal for her, she's done that for several earlier natural disasters, as well.)

I can think of about six to eight awards shows that are nationally televised each year, 3 or 4 for tv and film and 3 or 4 for music. Perhaps you just aren't interested? If that's the case, why bother to comment?

he refused to rehearse and put the producers on edge...and, he said he was going to drink during the show.

The hosts often disappear for long periods during the award portion. They open the show, then appear at key intervals. It would get really old to have non-stop comic quips too often during these.

'The Office' right off the bat, in their face. All the producers of this show had to do was watch his version of that compared to the bland NBC version and they would know they were in for an uncomfortable night., He does not shy away from the awkward. But I would not have predicted p** jokes in the opening monologue.

I miss the bad old days of No Stylists, when many stars dressed themselves and the screen often looked like a microwaved snack gone horribly horribly wrong.

the show when it started but she and the show really grew on me. I think because they toned down the Mommy aspect. I don't like the kids much. Now I look forward to it.

with Kristin Chenoweth guest-starring on itunes or something. One of the funniest and most entertaining hours of TV I've seen in a long time. I kept it saved on tivo just to watch every now and then.

It's not going to change your life or anything, but it is great pure entertainment.
