Bill Clinton to Attend Netroots Nation

Netroots Nation kicks off August 13 in Pittsburgh, PA. If you are thinking of going, here's another reason: They just announced that Former President Bill Clinton will there opening night.

Why have a Netroots Nation with no elections on the immediate horizon? As they say, to make sure we get the change we voted for, and to assist progressives with grass-roots efforts as the focus changes from electoral politics to governance.

If you'd like to go, you can sign up here.

take copious notes of what Pres. Clinton has to say, and that's the last you will hear about it from us!  (snk.)

Maybe I can scrounge up enough train money to go. The 15th is my birthday anyways, so maybe I can get someone else to foot the bill, even. :P

I really like Netroots Nation meetings. They talk about both the hot-button issues and things under the radar a bit (Net Neutrality for example), and they do it all in a pretty open, calm, and reasoned fashioned. I'd love to see an increase in the number of panels and things that they do--I wonder if it'd be possible to find a way to present research at a gathering like this, for example.

In any case, it sounds like fun!

I didn't know they made a habit of inviting unreconstructed racists to Netroots Nation.

of the book he promised to write about 2008, the one we may not see until 2016?

I would cross the country for it, if that was the topic.
