Nicole Kidman to Portray Valerie Plame in Movie

Great casting, in my opinion. Via Huffington Post:

Nearly a year after Warner Brothers announced their intention to make a biopic of outed CIA agent Valerie Plame, the identity of the actress who will play her has finally been leaked to the media - and you can only find it on MTV News. "Nicole Kidman," director Doug Liman revealed. "She's perfect if you've ever met Valerie.

It will be a while before the movie starts filming, as Nicole is currently pregnant.

they just need to make him up like when he played The Penguin in Batman Returns.  I always thought Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin was a dead ringer for Cheney.

Studio is developing a drama about outed CIA agent Valerie Plame and her husband Ambassador Joseph Wilson based on her memoir "Fair Game." While "Jumper" helmer Doug Liman reportedly said he's planning to direct the film with Nicole Kidman in the lead, he hasn't yet met with the studio and neither the director nor the star is attached.

Nicole Kidman is the new Meryl Streep.... (none / 0) (#5)

Nicole Kidman was fantastic in Dead Calm.

Nowadays she is the new Meryl Streep, and not in a good sense for either actress.  Streep used to get tons of accolades for basically adopting some new accent for each movie and everyone deciding that was great acting.

Because of that she's been in some real stinkers the past few years.

I hope this movie is stellar.

Regardless I think Liman is missing some PR possibilities in this release:

Nearly a year after Warner Brothers announced their intention to make a biopic of outed CIA agent Valerie Plame, the identity of the actress who will play her has finally been leaked to the media - and you can only find it on MTV News.

Perhaps he should be calling for an investigation into his team to find out who leaked the casting decision...?

your comment is a cheap shot at both Streep and Kidman.  They are both very different actresses, and very skilled, too.  If the movie stinks (how about "Days of Thunder", off the top of my head, Kidman fans?), it's more likely to be the fault of the director, writer or both, because those two actresses are pros in the best sense.  If they were such bad actresses, they would not keep getting work.
