Lieberman the Liar

Atrios points out how Lieberman lied again:

In July he said:
So I am confident that the situation is improving enough on the ground that by the end of this year, we will begin to draw down significant numbers of American troops, and by the end of the next year more than half of the troops who are there now will be home.

Lieberman, visiting Iraq today with Republicans McCain, Graham and Collins, reportedly said today:

"We need more, not less, troops," Lieberman said.

There really is no less principled person in politics today than Joe Lieberman.

    It bears repeating:
I and some other journalists had lunch with Senator Joe Lieberman the other day and we listened to him talking about Iraq. Either Senator Lieberman is so divorced from reality that he's completely lost the plot or he knows he's spinning a line. Because one of my colleagues turned to me in the middle of this lunch and said he's not talking about any country I've ever been to and yet he was talking about Iraq, the very country where we were sitting.

Why do the wingnut trolls always want to divert the thread to Clinton?

During the Clinton years, we were preached to by the media and liberals (one in the same, trust me) that lying was a good thing if done for the right reasons.

In that case you will be able to supply cites and quotes, because I never heard any such thing.

See?  I knew you were full of it.

You may slink away now, with your tail between your legs since you have been exposed as a strawman-dependent phony.  Is there any other kind of troll?

Sure there is, St. John McCain. (none / 0) (#1)

I neeeever would have imagined he would have reversed course from his campaign pronouncements of lowering troop levels in Iraq.

Lieberman getting re-elected in Connecticut proves the possibility of northern voters even dumber than those in the Old Confederacy.

Big Tent Democrat is as hung up and obsessed about Joe Lieberman as the right wing lunatics were obsessed about Bill Clinton.  How does dumping on Joe Lieberman do anyone any good?  Is he really any less principled than Hillary Rodham Clinton, Alcee Hastinga, John Murtha, or Jefferson from Louisiana who had the bribe money in the freezer?  Let this go already.

You really do not believe it do you?

Did you not think it takes a lot of lack of principle to bald face lie to your consitutency dur8ng an election and then a month later expose your lie?

Honestly, what could you be thinking? HE lied about war? About Americans dying.

Your question usa absurd to me.

Big Tent Democrat is as hung up and obsessed about Joe Lieberman as the right wing lunatics were obsessed about Bill Clinton.
!050 or so subpoenas and 200 million dollars on Clinton.

Lieberman is the worst but BTD is far from obsessed. A quick scan of his posts easily shows up your lie.

Your point is laughable. The fact that you defend Lieberman with lies shows is further proof that his constituency is rotten.

with sen. lieberman, we do need more troops in iraq. i figure about another 400k will do the job quite nicely.

oh, wait, we don't have another 400k. dammit, i just knew there was a catch to this!

You are right, diogenes. BTD is pretty hung up on Lieberman. Sure, he's a slimy politician, but as Sailor mentioned, there are surely a large number who are significantly worse. I guess that everyone has their own figure of hate - BTD despises Lieberman, others despise other guys.

For me, the "least principled person in politics today" would probably go to the race-baiting Bob Corker. Or maybe Dennis Hastert.
