The Paranoid Style: The Gay Agenda

More from the Party of Hate, an ad in an Indiana congressional race:

Pelosi will then put in motion her radical plan to advance the homosexual agenda, led by Barney Frank, reprimanded by the House after paying for sex with a man who ran a gay brothel out of Congressman Frank's home," the narrator says. . . . "I know what you're thinking," the narrator says. "Is this true? Well, do you feel lucky? Go ahead, vote for Brad Ellsworth. Make Nancy Pelosi's day."

Honestly, I don't know how a reasonable intelligent person can be a Republican. I wonder if even Barack Obama can find common ground with Hostettler, the GOP congressman running this ad.

    Way back home....in Indiana... (none / 0) (#1)

I live in this district and I'm voiting for Hosttetler.  Somehow I manage to live with myself.

Here's Ellsworths statement on Family Values which you can find on his website.

"I'll protect our families.  In my house, we were raised by my parents, not our television.  Strong communities are anchored in strong families.  I learned that church is about our community as much as it is our faith.  This is important in this community and it's important in my family.  The church helps all of us decide who we are.  We're all weak in our own ways, but I believe that none of us is so weak that we're beyond hope.  The church has guided my life and my career.  I believe in justice, I believe in hope, I believe in salvation, and I believe in the value of life in all its forms, not just what people say to get elected."

Here's the problems repulicans have with Ellsworth, a very popular sheriff and a great guy.   He's running as a (D) in name only.

I find it amusing that Pelosi will become speaker because mini-republicans like Ellsworth will win in repulican districts but then have to decide do they embrace the liberal agenda or do they vote according to their constituents.

That's the point of the add however abrasive it is.   Come on Big Tent.   Isn't Hostetler only using scary words to make a ligitamate point.   A vote for a repulican in democratic clothing still means you get an ultra liberal agenda?

You finally found an ad I'll join you in condemning.  Nobody uses "homosexual agenda" except to invoke bigotry and imagined plots.

    But this:

Honestly, I don't know how a reasonable intelligent person can be a Republican.

You're capable of writing and exchanging ideas intelligently, even when others disagree with you, but for some reason you've opted out today.  If I wrote comments like yours I'd be banned by now.

What's the hook? With the election so close, are you more concerned with winning arguments than with having conversations?  Are you playing your "tag them as extremists" bit to the hilt?  Have you decided that "Paranoid Style" is a useful thing in practice?

    Honestly, I don't get it.
