The She-Pundit Strikes Again

The she-pundit with long blond hair gave another inflammatory speech last night, this time at Indiana University. As usual, it was filled with insults, such as calling one student "gay boy" and referring to Iraqis as "brown boys."

One comment that drew strong audience reactions came from a young man who asked her if she didn't like Democrats, wouldn't it just be better to have a dictatorship? Coulter responded with a jab at the way the student talked.

"You don't want the Republicans in power, does that mean you want a dictatorship, gay boy?" she said.

Some more Coulterisms:

  • She claimed liberals "hate God and hate America,"
  • She said that Democrats don't want democracy to succeed in Iraq. She said, "They don't think the little brown boys could handle democracy," to which students responded, "We don't tolerate racism here. Go back to Germany."
  • She did, however, say there was a need for stations such as "Air America," which she claims has only 200 listeners. "We need these liberal talk radio shows to keep the tinfoil-hat types busy while we run the country, democratize the Middle East and secure our borders," she said.

I don't think she believes a word she says. She's discovered that the money tree blossoms the more outrageous she becomes -- both for book sales and lecture fees. She's always wanted fame as well as fortune, and notoriety has become an acceptable substitute. It's best not to take her seriously, as she journeys down the ladder from the perch she used to think she occupied, that of "constitutional scholar," to that of national laughing-stock.

She's not stupid. Surely she knows that no one is discussing her ideas, only her persona. We should treat her like the caricature she willingly has become.

Her base used to have lynching, cock fights, child abuse etc for catharsis; now they have to rely on premptive war, cutting social programs, and her.

Last summer, I broke down Chapter 11 of "Treason" (her tirade on Iraq right before the war). You can find it here. Looking at it now, it's amazing that large numbers of people bought that crap.

...ignore her? I've tried ignoring Limbaugh, Medved, Savage, O'Reilly, and Coulter for over a decade now. They're everywhere! We would like to think that consumers of media would consider logically and impassionately and rationally... but the media is force-feeding the metaphorical sugar, speed, and other stimulants into the collective psyche of the audience and they consume it like a plate of day-old powder donuts.

It amazes me that people like her can actually make money like that. Let her try her crap in the Northeast. She'll get kicked off the stage just like Warrior, the ex-pro wrestler infamous for his conservative crap. The only difference between the two is that Coulter doesn't make up new words. See for yourself

What, she said republican leadership is needed to secure the boreders and no one said anything about ports??? Yes, when Ann claimed after 9/11 that to secure our borders we needed to go to the Middle East, assassinate their leaders, and install Christian ones, she was misquoted. She meant to say that we should have those Muslim governments run our major east coast ports. It's the damn liberal media that always takes her quotes out of context.

Outrage is what she wants; it fuels her. There's really no dealing with her, short of writing to the Palm Beach County district attorney, expressing your outrage, and having her gay-boy ass put in jail. Which I would recommend everybody to do.

She is the female Andrew Dice Clay. She's no longer a credible political pundit (I know, always debatable whether she ever was, I was being generous). It's sad, really, to see this woman become so desperate in her quest to maintain her level of fame, that she has become a parody of herself. Sadder still, that she doesn't see it. Oh...it's slipping...no, can't do it...just can't feel...anything, for her. Nothing at all. Is that what they mean by, "jumping the shark?" I didn't like Andy Clay, much either, but I believe he knew what he was doing was just schtick. To me, that's a big difference.

Coulter is nothing more than cheap schtick pretending to be discourse. She really is nothing more than the inverse of Al Franken, hollow, shallow, desperate for attention, needy and for the most part not worth a listen. When I hear the likes of either of thier types I feel the disaffected embarrassment that comes when one steps over a passed out bum who has just defecated in his drawers. I hold my nose and move on because there is nothing I can do to help them, I can't stand thier stench and they don't change my opinion about sh*t bums. In other words she is as pathetic as her Leftist conterparts.

    the inverse of Al Franken
Pleae link to where Al Franken advocated killing ... well, coulter's list is too long to enumerate, so I'll just say, anyone! Really, when has Al Franken said ANYONE should die because they disagrees with him. Nice try at hijacking the thread, ya had me goin' there for second. couter spews her hate, and when someone asks her a question in the same vein, they get arrested. e.g.
"Student arrested, charged with disorderly conduct after offensive question"

Sailor, Get over yourself and your self-rightous nonsense. Coulter, Franken, et al and thier fellow invective spewing comrads on both sides need to be ignored unless of course you agree with them. And if you do then you are as shabby as they are. The truth be told is that if you need to have your beliefs re-enforced by these types then you are just not that good at expressing your own opinions with your own words. I am repeled by anyone who uses faux humour/mean sarcasim in the place of real discourse. In your defense of Mr Franken I can guess that you do not.

"We should treat her like the caricature she willingly has become."
You know, I wasn't there. But I am quite sure with every racial and sexist slur, there were a horde of young conservative white men cheering voraciously. Very much as they do with Rush Limbaugh and other conservative hate mongers. Caricature? Nope. She is a symptom of a cancer growing in our society. I've never met a proponent of true communism, but I meet people everyday that believe in fascism. They just know it by another name.

I think Ann Coulter has some form of mental illness. I'd like to enjoy the ridicule of her found here and mostly elsewhere, but until someone can assure me otherwise, it's just wrong to make fun of the mentally ill.

Umm Sailor, I never said anything about Franken advocating anything but a bitter bad taste and a certain overly inflated sense of himself and I will say as much about Coulter. If you're gullible enough to listen to either of these idiots and give them the slightest credibility then good for you. If you think they speak to the stereotypes that both sides have of the other then you are right because they both speak to the most base and crass sides of the fringes. If you nod in agreement with either then you are a person who is on the fringe. If you think that they are both partisan hacks and that they are an embarassment to honest political discourse then I agree with you. If you don't then you are just another sucker buying political snake-oil from these political shills. The sales-pitch is different but the snake oil is the same and it is pure poison.

Actually, there is a difference between calling Rush Limbaugh a big fat idiot and calling for murder. Most people don't have any trouble with that distinction.

With all of the entirely legitimate reasons to despise Coulter, it'd be nice if people didn't lose their reading comprehension in the process.
She said that Democrats don't want democracy to succeed in Iraq. She said, "They don't think the little brown boys could handle democracy," to which students responded, "We don't tolerate racism here. Go back to Germany."
Whoever shouted that at her kind of missed the point, which was that Democrats think the Iraqis are "litle brown boys" who can't handle democracy. It wasn't Coulter calling them that derogratory phrase, it was Coulter trying to parrot what she thinks Democrats think.

She is, both in appearance and actions, a real-life troll. A heckler. She's meant to inflame and aggravate while College Republicans and their ilk laugh about how dense we liberals have to be not to get the joke, that she's not trying to make sense or be reasonable, just to infuriate us with her straight-faced nonsense until we look even more ridiculous than she does because she at least knows what's going on. I hate having to explain this.

We get to see these cowards (The One True b!X, JOhn, et al,) as the closet door opens a crack for them to parse her words so as to show that she only hates democrats and is not as bad as we make her.

She's a slightly better looking (and more masculine) version of Michael Savage with the same college-jock-lynch-mob appeal. Shes a symptom of the big dumb-down p.r push that started with Raygun,Falwell, Schlafly and reached a fever pitch in the mid/late ninties. The object is to keep the great outsourced and downsized's chronic frustration and anger focused on anything but The Pioneers.
