Say Hello

Say hello to The Bird. From it's about page:

This site was born from the overwhelmingly compelling need to speak out against the corruption of the Bush Administration. It's secrecy, self-serving interests, arrogance and indifference to Americans cannot be measured by the actions of any past administration. Also, it was important for me to create this forum, in order to allow an ever growing disenfranchised community to express opinions and join in on my daily discussion. As for the name of my blog? It's simple. This Administration has been flipping us the bird from day one, and this is our way of giving it right back to them.

We are still loving Memeorandum. It tells you which bloggers have written on the top stories of the day, and provides direct links. Check it out.

While we're at it, Atrios is on a pledge drive. He writes:

This site is part journalism, part pundit, part community, part activist - and the last two, the activist/community parts, would be much more difficult to do under such circumstances. Any institutional support would come with its own parameters. The other day Kos wrote, in a kind post directing people over here:

And if we can't get compensated for our efforts, there will come a time when we'll face two choices -- abandon the effort or accept an offer to blog for faceless media conglomerate X. A free and independent blogosphere requires that writers get compensated for their time.
